Work Laptop Recommendations

I'm sure this has been discussed a ton on here, but we all know how amazing the search function is. And I'm lazy.
I work from home and absolutely despise my Dell laptop. It isn't old but is more pain to deal with than it's worth.
What would the wise members of TD recommend for a work laptop. I work in life insurance so don't need anything crazy fancy. Pretty much just need internet access.

Stick to the business models from the major brands. Not the consumer-oriented ones. They won't be as "cutting edge" but they tend to be more solid and stable in my experience.

IT is working on mine, so will be posting from the husband's account for a moment.

I also like HPs and Toshibas. A lot comes down to you get what you pay for though.

Give Lenovo's Thinkpad line a look. We use Lenovo and have been very happy with their stuff.

It's not a necessity. That Lenovo looks nice too. Thanks for the recommendation.

Well if it's primarily for internet and you're considering the $1,100.00 Lenovo, you can get a brand new Mac with new M1 chip 256 SSD storage for $850 on Amazon. It;s blazing fast too. And you can load Microsoft office for Mac if you need to , or one of the free office style programs.

My employer split new laptop purchases between Lenovo and HPs. I can't tell you how many HPs have had serious battery issues. I'm using a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 8 and I love it. By far the best laptop I've had.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. My company provides me with one and I like it so much, I bought one for personal use.
I have a 14-inch, FHD+ touch display, a Core i7-1165G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD costs $1,965 when manually configured. I recommend spending another $15 on the IR camera.

It’s on the pricier side, but I can’t recommend the surface laptop 4 enough. I went from a surface pro 4 that lasted me about 7 years to this year’s laptop 4 because I wanted more of a traditional laptop feel. It is a very high-functioning machine. I play with spreadsheets a good bit for my job so I love being able to tap the screen to select things.

Surface pro 7, Costco has the whole bundle for $900. Best laptop I’ve ever owned bar none

We use HP Elite laptops and they are pretty good.
