What games have you wanted to play but just feel too daunting?

For me this is Football Manager. I've got some soccer friends in my life that rave about this but I am only a casual fan of soccer. When I get up on the weekends I will check and see what's on and watch the most interesting game but I don't have a true team and look forward to games weeks in advance. Football Manager is on gamepass so I decided to check it out and holy hell the menus alone felt overwhelming. I've watched numerous YouTube videos and still can't figure out what to do.

Is there anything like this for you? Either the mythology or backstory feels too complicated or the game itself just feels overwhelming?

Oddly enough, Witcher II. Just haven't felt up to learning a new combat system lately. Too much going on with work, etc. Would rather just play something I have more comfort with. Which is why I'm currently replaying Mass Effect...

Sekiro. I have 3 hours in it and gave up on the big fat dude blocking a gate.

Witcher 3. Got it for $11 on Steam summer sale like a year ago.

Friends tell me it's right up my alley and I've constantly heard it's incredible, but for some reason I just can't start it up.

I have both 2 and 3 installed. Just sitting in the camp at the beginning of 2. Unfortunately, it's been so damned long, I'm probably going to just need to restart at the beginning so I can redo the tutorial

Fallout 4
Skyrim

Started both multiple times. Get 2-3 hrs in and then quit.

Football manager is absolutely incredible. You really have to just dive in and experiment. I made the jump when FM17 came out and still have a save going on it.

Have no desire to upgrade the game either.

Bloodborne and Souls games intimidate me to this day.

Fallout 4

I get a few hours in, and I realize just how overwhelming it is and that I don't have time to do it all.

I think gaming has become more social than actually playing something to finish it. If none of my friends are playing something I'll play, I don't play anything.

Yep. Gaming isn’t what it used to be for me anymore either.

I’m 34 and feel like gaming systems grew up with me perfectly.

Now the most I play is a little Mario cart with my boys whose asses I kick up and down the track haha.

For me, it's about being honest with myself about what I will enjoy. Know who has two thumbs and has never played Doom Eternal? This guy. Dark Souls? Lulzy. Literally any game that requires me to interact with human beings on the internet? Hahahahahaha

But both Ori games were awesome. Horizon Zero Dawn was awesome. Replaying the Mass Effect remaster has been awesome. Playing Inside was... interesting? Hell, I need to get back into Stardew Valley after the big version 1.5 update.

I just don't really care about gaming as a competition anymore, whether direct competition with other people or just playing games that are frustrating to play. If I'm enjoying myself, I keep playing. If I'm not, I don't, and I just go do something else. No impetus, no pressure, no stress.

Any single player game. It's become social now. If nobody is on, I don't get on.

Last I played was Witcher 3 about 4 months ago and I just rushed it because I wanted to see all the hype but didn't get to see it because I rushed.

Any game that doesn't allow for custom button mapping. This is mostly a console issue, but alas...
