Notre Dame has a huge radius, From Lacassine to Scott and up to Eunice and some Gueydan.

Former Notre Dame and LSU player Seth Fruge listed his hometown as Welsh, so Notre Dame's reach is almost into Lake Charles.

The other poster that talked about the receivers that he lost from last year was spot on. Guys like that can make any qb look good.

It goes both ways, I am sure Howard made those WR's look pretty good too.

Jeff Davis parish doesn't have a catholic high school so kids who want to attend one either have to go to St. Louis in LC or ND

What a dumbass take. The kid couldn't cut it. He wanted a spot handed to him instead of freaking earning it like everyone else that goes through that program. If anyone is a crying bitch it's the kid and his family.

Lol....he should have stayed and caught all 3 passes per game..

"Couldn't cut it"?

Cool, then sign the fricking release...Cook should be ecstatic...but he hasnt...weird huh?

Who?

The only person I can recall from Nola was in 2005 after Katrina and it was 1 receiver. That of course was the Wild West for high school teams.

Shelvin is the only other one that comes to mind and his family moved there.

I don’t know a single kid from Eunice that went to ND? Not one? 95% of ND players come from Crowley and Rayne with some from Church Point and Iota then players also come from the surrounding countryside in between like Morse, Maxie, Robert’s Cove, Richard, Estherwood, Indian Bayou Etc. Believe it or not, there are some really good football players in the countryside of that area.

There might be 1 player from Lafayette, Jennings or Eunice every decade but ND is good because of their coach, the consistency of the program and many of their players have played together since grade school. They don’t typically have size but they’re quick, smart, play as a unit and they know what they’re doing. That’s why they’re good, not because they pull talent from where ever they want.

The same coach Cook was at Crowley High in the mid 90’s and had Crowley High in the playoffs every year and in the finals twice. He’s a great coach period. I don’t like him necessarily but you have to respect him. The same goes for Port Barre and Opelousas when they had decent coaching, they were formidable.

Eunice and Jennings have good programs of their own so players have no reason to leave. St. Edmund of Eunice have plenty of success there as well. Plus that is an hour round trip from either town unless the family moves, which doesn’t happen often, if at all.
