OP the top part of your heart is the atrium, that's where the pacemaker is. A-fib is a problem with multiple pacemakers going off in the atrium instead of just one. Your atria is irregular and ventricles typically pacing regularly. Many people, especially young, manage it well for a long time. I have an old medic friend of mine who is retired now and in his early 60s, he's dealt with it since his early 30s. Do what your cardiologist says and obviously eat right.

I am 6 foot and I have me never hit 210, and probably like you have very muscular build. I have 46 inch chest and 34-36 waist etc, so although the damn chart always says I need to lose weight my body fat was never been close to being 25%.

Id bet good money you are close if not 25% body fat

I am going with him on that, any serious body builder or weightlifter shows up as obese in that form, if you read all the stuff they admit that. It has showed me with 20% body fat when I have had complete electronic test, pinch test etc that showed I was actually 13% body fat. According to that chart I should be like 177. I was 179 in high school and had a six pack and 8% body fat. (I could still bench over 300)

That shite doesn’t work for weightlifters and they admit that

My dad's had bouts with it since his triple bypass. Gonna get ablation in a few weeks.

He's 6 foot, 75, 175# and replaced the roof on his garage a week ago. About as healthy as a 75 year old can get. So my brother and I likely have the same issue in our future.

Here is a link on this. Basically muscle weights more than fat, but the BMI doesn’t take that into consideration. So Arnold was a huge fat pig according to BMI when he was winning Mr. Universe. There are many more accurate ways to determine body fat composition. Article on problems with BMI

My Pops had I guess what you would call "Transient A-fib". It would come and go. His quack of a GP wanted to put him on blood thinners. Pops didn't agree and told the doc he didn't want them.

A while later, Pops had started having problems with being tired and issues swallowing. He went to the quack GP who was convinced that he was having mini strokes because he wouldn't take the blood thinners for his A-fib. Quack doc refused to run tests.

We had our chiropractor get an MRI scheduled and an appointment with a neurologist. Long story short is that my Pops died of ALS, and that shite arse quack of a GP still probably believes it was mini strokes.

Vaccinated?

There are now 1,187 VAERS reports of first time AFib following a dose of the vaccine.

highly recommend u get a calcium test

Had one a few years ago. 100% open.

That's what bothers me. Because of my digestive issues and all the meds I was on for UC before my colon was removed I've been seeing a cardiologist for 15 years.

Stress test every other. Tons of ekg's, Holter monitors and everyone looks awesome. Despite the other shite at least the heart was good.

This really surprised the shitnout of me. Again Thanks for the responses from everyone.

Same with me, Mr. Vader. The heart can be a weird muscle. Mine stopped beating one time at the red light leaving Bonita Lakes Mall in Meridian. As the light changed, I began to feel dizzy as I pulled into my turn toward town. I told my wife, "I'm feeling weird" and then I woke up over a block down the street. the wife had managed to get across the console of my truck and get her foot on the brake as she steered my truck off the road onto the grass. My foot was on the gas and there was a big cloud of smoke as my wheels spun.

Like you, mine wakes me up at right, racing 200 beats a minute at times. When the PVC were at their worse, my heart was skipping beats 20 times a minute. The shocks worked with me, then the ablation.

Now I stay pretty much in control by taking Warfarin, Toprol XL, and amiodarone. Waiting for the next chapter in my story.

I had an episode when I was 24. A second one when I was 70. Likely will get another one at about 97. I'm 6'3", BP 120/75. 215 pounds.
Don't worry. Do what your doc says. Lose 20 pounds.
Best of luck.

This happened to me once in my early 20’s. Went for my yearly checkup earlier this year and my cardiologist changed his diagnosis and thinks it was a one off event because I was drinking 2 energy drinks per day.

Vagus nerve stimulation. Same thing happened to me 5 years ago. I was an icu nurse back then. Regular Sunday afternoon at work and my wife brings me a snowball. After a few bites I had what I describe as a throat freeze and a few seconds later I felt my heart rate go awry. I had the resp therapist run an EKG and I was in rapid Afib with heart rate in 150s. I was asymptomatic but could definitely feel my heart racing. A cardiologist on staff ordered flecainide and the rhythm converted in about 3 hours. Follow-up EKG and Echo were all normal. Hasn’t happened again. I now have a bottle of expired flecainide in my medicine cabinet.

I found out that artificial cheese flavor would send me into Afib on vacation when it happened for the first time. I corrected after about 3 hours and after that it was game on. Within 1.5 years I would go into Afib walking up a set of stairs. I exercised all the time before the Afib and as it got worse I just couldn’t. Id go into Afib.

I finally got the cryoablation 4 years ago. It fixed it.

Yes...you are correct.

The doc uses a Bioelectrical impedance analysis machine to derive muscle from fat. That is where my number comes from.

I couldn't remember it exactly so I called and asked. It's a BIA machine that send electrical signals through your feet and hands to see what kind of impedance there is to give them a more realistic muscle makeup vs fat. At least that's my understanding.
