I take it that you refuse to respond to my simple questions due to the fact that great Britain does not have a written agreement with the Taliban and therefore is under no compulsion to follow anything the United States may have committed to

Well, that might be true, but they are taking a risk which could jeopardize the rest of the operation.
What operation is that?? At this point there is no operation.

Why would that be stupid? Let me get this right, you couldn't defeat a 75k cavedwellers with 100k+ troops, but you are going to defeat them with a handful.
How’d we keep them at bay for a year and a half with 2500?
Posted on 8/19/21 at 8:24 am to GeauxFightingTigers1
What agreements do we have? To let the Taliban murder Americans and our afghan allies?

Your not going to be saying that if they start mortaring the airport. Not sure what is surprising about this.
Tell them if they mortar the airport we will drop a MOAB on their artillery

We couldn’t kill them in 20 years with all the assets we had in country, what makes you think we could now without any assets there?
This is patently false. We DIDN’T kill them, not that we couldn’t kill them. We haven’t waged total war since WWII. Rules of engagement ensure we will never “win” a war again.

That they had time to evacuate, time is months up. The military isn't suppose to be there.

You guys are delusional as to the realty there.
Right now, they have to do what the host government says, if not they risk killing them all.
Its really is that simple.
1. You sign a crease fire and withdraw
2. You fail to withdraw
3. The host country agrees to allow you to use the airport for 2 weeks
And than you threaten them? When you have no ability to carry out any of the threats?

I'm stupid, what you quoted is a fact.
Why do you think people from the government keep talking about the "agreement".

"Written agreement"....."Taliban".....
Ponder that for a minute.

And clearly the Taliban is doing nothing about it. Jesus.
At the present time, or they don't know about it. At the end of the day, you're not moving 10s of thousands of people by a super secret tunnel in the next 10 days. There has to be something else that happens, or they will have to leave them.
This isn't complex, you guys watch too many movies.
Joe fricked this up good, its not my fault you arse wipes.

This Mark Milley is turning out to be quite the Chief. More concerned with white fragility than devising a plan for the pull out.
And I just saw a reporter ask a question “are you going to retake Bagram.?” They didn’t show Miley’s response..never should have let that go duuuh

But this isn't a military operation, its basically a State Department operation which the military is assisting to secure the airport.
The military isn't in charge, nor are they making any calls outside of the airport.

You keep highlighting the agreement like it’s some sacred doctrine that 1) Cannot be negotiated or broken and 2) Is the most beneficial course for us as things stand there today. The Taliban has broken our agreement with them several times over the past 6 months. If they want us out, they will work with us to get our people out.

Or they can just start shelling the invaders as you don't follow thru with agreements.
You just don't like that answer.
You guys are retarded.

I promise, if things weren’t going well for the Taliban, they’d have no problem violating the agreement.
I’m new to this thread, but I’m guessing Tally has us so over a barrel right now, that we are at greater risk if we violated the agreement. Almost like Tally is waiting for us to.
How embarrassing to have gotten to this point.

No one disagrees. That is the situation. Stop making it about the agreement

Again, everyone knows that and no one disagrees. Just quit insisting that a piece of paper is what is governing anything at all at this time.
