We lost my wife’s little yapper dog this weekend. We named her Kong as a joke, but she truly thought she was 6’ 300lbs. She routinely chased deer in the yard like she was going to catch them and kill them.

She ruled the roost and dictated her terms to my other two dogs who are WAY bigger than her. If the water bowl was empty, she’d scratch at it until you filled it. While you brought the water over for the bowl, she’d get excited and spin around like a top while your poured the water.

She LOVED my wife. The pic above is her waiting at the front window for my wife to come home from work. She did this every day from about 3PM until momma got home. She lived to be over 15 years old and was pampered beyond belief. She got pneumonia last week and didn’t recover. She slid away quietly at home Sunday. I didn’t think I’d be broken up about it, but I’ll be damned if I’m not. Drank a lot last night.

Dogs, even if ankle bitters, are awesome.

But I can smell the peepee from here.

Pom's dont mess around. They do think they are the Alpha in any situation. They do yap too much and have to be groomed way to often, but they are an awesome bread of dogs.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for y’all’s loss

I’m not a fan of little dogs
My mom went to adopt a dog, she called & said it’s really little, what do I do
I said to not bring a tiny dog home
She did & ended up with the name Tiny Dog
We lost her about 3 weeks ago & I’m still not ok

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

I know and feel your pain.

I currently have 4 dogs, 2 Great Pyrenees (mostly outside) and 2 Mini Doxy's (Always inside). We've had dogs for years and I have loved every one of them and mourned them all when they passed.

The best way to cure the heartache is to get another one if you are so inclined.
