I’m not saying that he should, but is it possible to be in the Hall of Fame and return to the NFL? He’s 35 turns 36 in September so could he pull a Tim Tebow and sign with a team or do NFL rules prevent you from being in HOF and returning.

I mean anything is possible, but being as he would still have to play for the team he hates.....it's doubtful.

He was smart enough to retire so he’s smart enough not to unretire

He said his body was done a year prior to when he did call it quits.

He started his HOF speech by talking about how much pain he was in for most of his career, and how he took whatever painkillers he could to play.

That's not a guy who wants to come back, nor should come back.

He's 35 years old and has a net worth of over $40 million. He could live comfortably the rest of his life just on the interest every year and still leave a fortune to his kids. He also started some cannabis business in Michigan. No way he's playing again.

He said on Pardon My take last week that he had to ice his legs after showing some high schoolers how to do a drill at camp. His body is done

He's not banned from the league since he's in the HOF, if that's what you're asking.

Barry Sanders and Megatron both returning to Lions

I think Ben McDonald could go out and still bring 90 heat

Dude, his fingers looked like a fricked up 12 point bucks antlers.

And the only thing he will get down the road is major arthritis in every joint in those fingers.

I think he's cool being retired

The next time I hear someone say “there’s no such thing as a stupid question” I’ll show them this thread.

He won’t unretire unless the nfl doesn’t punish players for weed.

I’m not advocating for him to return or think that he should. I was asking a generalized question. Since most players make it into the HOF well into their 40’s there’s never really been anyone that could go back and play. I was just using him as an example since he’s in the HOF and still in an age that would be possible for him to play. I was just wondering is if they would suspend his HOF status until he retired again or something in that nature or would they give him a cool patch on his jersey like the man of the year.

On the NFLN/YT series HOF Knocks (where HOF President Dave Baker knocks on the door to let a player know he made it into the Hall) Dave jokingly suggested he made the HOF, that is unless Calvin was gonna come out of retirement. Calvin said not a chance.
