Either an inside joke that I don’t get, or you’ve got the wrong guy. If I’m going to rule this parish with an iron fist, I won’t have any relatives living here.
It's a story our last Field Marshall von Metairie told:
ChewPube
100% invented out of thin air.

And people thought this was a conspiracy theory. Mayors are now able to override the US constitution with a printer and a signature. All because of the big scary virus.

The stupidest part of the whole thing is that the order was completely pointless. He basically just wrote a parish version of what JBE ordered. Like does he not know St Tammany is in Louisiana?

Maybe that kind of language has been in executive orders for awhile, but that’s not the point.
We’re paying attention now and the shite can’t be allowed to sneak by.
Everything about gov at all levels is broken.

The government would still be responsible for paying the property owner for use of their property

Mike doesn't have an excuse and should have worded himself a little differently addressing his bad step of executive order, as another poster has already mentioned.
W&J show clowned him pretty hard. To go on their show without knowledge of how they would eat him up shows his stupidity. He walked into a buzzsaw that would only make him look worse.
The last tyrant St Tammany had was Brister, wasn't a fan. This dude isn't much better.
He needs to go

Can we bring back Pat Brister...oh wait

Exactly. If they are able to apply this to anything the state deems an emergency, it allows for unending overreaches.
They could call increasing social dissent an emergency and use this to suppress it. If you think that is a far-fetched possibility, wake up and look around you!
The language must be removed. We need to show the government we can force them to roll back powers they have already handed to themselves without our approval.

This is scary thing...the justification was that this language is common, not a big deal...language in the statute has been in place since 1993. I guess precedent has been set now. The constitution be damned.
Point still stands, we are subjected to this unless challenged, and if we do, the full weight of the parish/state will be brought down on you until the courts (possibly up to the Supreme Court) contrast this to the Bill of Rights.
As written it is very broad and all encompassing....but don't worry, I won't use it to take your house (even though I have the power to).

I agree. I've been telling family and friends...the way to take this country back systematically from the Commies starts at the local level. Two reasons 1. They have greater reach as they are closer to us but they are easier to take on than the feds
2. Once the take back is completed locally, it sends a message to the ones higher up in government.

Interview
Found this online if anyone wants to hear the W&J interview without downloading the app. Skip to about 16:00 and they even frick around with Cooper's assistant before he comes on. Pretty funny.
im listening to it now and was able to skip to around 14:00 and they are giving him shite
this is good shite

Louisiana grants county (parish) commissioners (presidents) the ability to issue executive orders?
Many parishes have not gone “Home Rule” and still have the Police Jury as their elected legislative and governing body. It’s a council form by district/ward but the PJ president, elected by PJ members, to preside at meetings and sign off on official business. This is a one-year term and is rotated by tacit consent.
I now think there could be wisdom to retaining this form of government, considered by many to be archaic.
