Was in Academy today and saw this thing. I knew others would be putting them out.

This one will need a controller of some sort like a DigiQ I guess. Here's a pic of one someone already modified,

It's $1,300 and no, I am happy with my Masterbuilt 800. I would never need to cook as much meat as that beast can handle.

What was the brand name of that? Looks pretty sizable...and definitely needs a controller these days

I ordered one Monday along with a Fireboard 2 drive. I’m kicking the Masterbuilt to the curb. I’ll post some pics when I get it set up.

People should also check out the big pig trailer rig from green mountain. Fits a whole hog, already has the hitch and axle built in. $6500 (price includes a meat probe).

I built one like that but bigger. It is a stumps (stubbs?) clone. I had 4 24” square shelves in it and it would run at 250 for 18 hours without touching it. I finally sold it because it was just too big. The gravity feed concept is awesome though. Works great. I insulated mine with 2” of rockwool. It would be cool to the touch on the outside.

The killer was when the church found out I could cook 24 butts at a time, they started asking me to cook every time there was a fundraiser. I ended that quickly.

Yeah, I really debated on the Fireboard or BBQ Guru but I have the Fireboard on my Yoder and I love the online/app integration of it. Academy is telling me the Gravity will be here Tuesday, I’m ready to get it.

That is an impressive looking smoker & not a bad price point considering it would last a lifetime.

Nice smoker there. I debated on the Old Country and Limo Jr for weeks. Almost put a deposit down, just decided to give the OC a shot.

for all you DIYers, I enjoy the Heatermeter. at 100 bucks, it was the best alternative if you were not DIY when BBQGuru was the only guy in town and cost 300-500 bucks. but now everything has gone down in price.

But the heatermeter is still fun to make. I have printed a few cases for people.

Got the OC gravity home today, almost busted both nuts trying to unload the heavy bastard out of my truck. I’m going to throw some larger casters on tomorrow and do the burn off. I’ll snag some pics.

Maiden voyage underway, cooking some beef ribs. Fireboard doing it's thing, got up to temp pretty quick.
