Worst College Football Stadiums In The U.S.

#40. University of California-Los Angeles: Rose Bowl Stadium
Pasadena, California
One of the more picturesque stadiums in the country, the Rose Bowl is a somewhat creaky venue that's in need of significant repairs.
Home to the UCLA Bruins, the Rose Bowl opened in 1922 and is a National Historic Landmark.
But in the present day, it's known for its horrible parking, cramped concourses and seats, and aging facilities.
As one Yelp reviewer says, “If you must go [to the Rose Bowl], leave your house at least five to six hours before the concert or game begins. Prepare to be irritated at the sheer incompetence of a city (
sounds familiar) and venue that does as little as possible, and generally doesn't give a rat's patooty once they've got your money."

Somewhat outdated info, the Rose Bowl was remodeled in 2016. As far as infrastructure for the actual stadium, it's admittedly pretty antiquated outside of the suite boxes, which is expected for something built a hundred years ago, but sightlines are better than almost any other stadium I've been to. The worst part is probably getting up and down to your seats, so make sure to buy an extra beer to save a trip.

Good thing we’ll get to witness a good ole fashioned arse whooping in there

It’s a POS with a great view. UCLA needs to play 1-2 years at SoFi stadium and spend $400m to renovate.
People are going to downvote, but Death Valley is somewhat of a POS too.

It’s still very odd that that stadium is limited by law to about 12-15 events yearly. Feel like additional events would help an operation budget and money towards capital gains projects. Toured the stadium before Covid with a friend who runs the colosseum’s stadium ops across town.

Thank you Bruin! I (list) stand corrected.
(Nov 14, 2019) Rose Bowl Stadium has been renovated multiple times over the last 60 years. Most recently, a decade-long project totaling $183 million was completed in 2016 and brought the stadium into the 21st century with technological upgrades.

Worst I’ve been in is War Memorial in Little Rock. It was pouring down and even when you left your seat water was gushing on top of you inside the stadium.

I've long said the Rose Bowl is vastly overrated.
I'm only going because it may be LSU's only chance to play there. There's nothing appealing about the stadium though. It's a microcosm of California, thinks much higher of itself than it should.

The Rose Bowl in no way compares to Tiger Stadium. It's a round, bland stadium, in the middle of SOCAL sun with no shade and no character. If we were talking about baseball, it would be compared to the multipurpose stadiums. I don't get caught up in the views because I've seen the greatest views in this country.

Its the freaking Rose Bowl. I dont care how outdated, does it have a seat, food and drink and a bathroom? If so I cant wait to get there.

How many earthquakes has it survived? Kinda hope we feel a minor one since I’ve never been in one.

You say this as if A. Most stadiums have shade and B. This SOCAL sun is supposed to be really hot. We sit in south Louisiana sun and that’s actually miserable mr condescending “I’ve seen the best views”.

War Memorial in Little Rock is the worst stadium ever, the concession under the back end zone was like waiting in a third world country food line.

I don't got Fenway or Wrigley for a state of the art experience .... same with the Rose Bowl. Historic atmosphere.
Posted on 8/5/21 at 5:20 am to JW
Fenway is a tight squeeze and you are screwed if you sit above the post line circling the stadium.

Worst stadium I have ever been too was Ben Hill Griffin.
Literally, nothing is appealing about that stadium.
