Because the only teams with interest thought they’d have the cap space to sign him so didn’t offer much. Markenann and 2nd(s) was the reported deadline offer. I think Markennan is too one dimensional to be very valuable so I see this as a comparable deal as what was available at the deadline.
Seems we never had real interest to move him then, just cursory discussions.

We were hoping for a playoff push. They weren’t going to take a step back and end that push. We see how that turned out, and we shite the bed.

We didn't do the deal before the deadline because we weren't going to improve the team in the short run and we were still trying to make the playoffs.

Didn't griffin ask Alonzo if he wanted to stay at the deadline and he said yes, so he kept him
