I believe Wes Johnson could make Reyz some money if he came back.

He’s training with Petrone. Same guy who Fournette trained with before the combine. Crawford is going pro.

Team Japan just walked off Team USA in extra innings (the 8th) for a 1-0 win. The 7th inning was final regulation inning. They play international rules in extras which puts runners on 1st and 2nd to start inning. Tre Morgan was the runner at 2nd in Team USA’s top half of inning and just did a really bad job taking an appropriate lead when Japan showed wheel play multiple bunt attempts. When the bunt finally went down, he was thrown out at 3rd easily. Team USA’s pitcher in the bottom of the 8th was cade kohler of Cambell. He had terrible command, walked a batter then had their best hitter at a 3-1 count before he singled for the walk off
Tre Morgan - 1/3 with a single, a strikeout, and a fly out
Dylan Crews - 0/2 with a strikeout, fly out, and a walk

Did Japan fly in Otani to pitch?

Sean Ochinko was the hitting coach

They always have solid pitchers, and the problem for us is they all have like 3 offspeed pitches that can cause issues for college hitters who gear up for the fastball

Mac Guscette to Bama. We made early contact but not sure how much we’ve actually been pursuing catchers.

Guys I can’t remember from previous years, once a player is drafted, how long before we typically know whether they sign or come to school?

I would think Collin Price was even higher on our board, but I think we're fine with what we have coming back, the incoming recruits (Jones and Frey, and hopefully Neal) and potentially Skenes if we play him there

nice article on Skenes from mid-june. he won the john olerud award for best two-way player. question: does anyone know if within the same game skenes ever played catcher and then pitched? In the 90's I used to watch Todd Helton come off of 1B to close (sometimes relieving R.A. Dickey) but 1B is not as physically demanding as catcher. I understand Skenes desired role is that of a weekend starter. The way he is talked about by his former coaches at Air Force makes me understand how lucky his next team will be to get him

I doubt it, unless he came from behind the plate to close. He seems to have designated days for pitching, catching, and DH...which I'm sure would be the same here.
He's super talented at everything, but he'd also bring alot of leadership here no matter how we used him. I think how any team uses him versus how he wants to be used will be the final decision point for him. We can certainly offer to use him however he really wants, he can fill alot of holes or specific holes.
I wonder if he wants to play some 1B here. That may be the only place that we couldn't really guarantee anything, given we have Tre and Tanks and some young guys that could factor in there.

The times I have seen him pitch he screams closer to me but I am sure he has other ambitions.

He could definitely be and project as a closer, but all you have to do is check his outings last season if you have any concern about his gas tank. Wes Johnson is drooling to fine tune his makeup as a starter, too.
He's a fiery player, too. Leadership is there, and he'll bring some fire.

Baws if we all band together we can work together and change all these HS seniors phones. That way when they call our wife’s numbers the MLB teams will know they can never please any of them and start to look elsewhere.
It’ll be a tough stretch and it won’t be easy but we do it for Johnson, Jordan, and Johnson.
