Tim Barber, a spokesman, said the plan was to open several additional regional offices as the department charged with protecting Congress transforms itself in the aftermath of the attack, which exposed serious deficiencies in the Capitol Police’s gathering and dissemination of intelligence, preparedness and training.

Much like the Secret Service, which has field offices in multiple states and countries, the Capitol Police need to be able to monitor and quickly investigate threats against lawmakers wherever they occur, Mr. Barber said.

Yogananda D. Pittman, the acting chief of force, has testified before Congress that total threats against lawmakers have doubled since 2017, with an “overwhelming majority of suspects residing outside” the capital region.

Shouldn't this fall under the umbrella of the FBI?

Yeah, pretty sure this is a jurisdiction issue.

How many different, competing, branches of law enforcement do we really need?

We frankly need fewer ones. And I don’t mean dumping local law enforcement.

Any offices opened for these brown shirts needs to be burned to the ground.

Americans have to send a message

Capitol Police don't have jurisdiction beyond protecting the physical property of the US Capitol building and the members thereof. Any attempt to detain a citizen beyond those areas amounts to kidnapping and can be justifiably resisted with deadly force by the citizen.

Arent they unregulated as well? Maybe that’s not the right term but the fact that they are above scrutiny is quite scary.

My thinking is that one of the goals of the establishment for the upcoming lockdowns is to piss people off on a whole nother level and pray they get a shining example of a white conservative committing an act of violence with one of those big scary guns.

That white supremacist narrative will really have some juice behind it after that where they’ll be able to justify more Nazis Germany shite.

So instead of investigating the lawmakers, they’re going to investigate the citizens that disagree with them.

Got it.

This is how you threaten actual conservatives.

Establish a force that answers to the speaker of the house, then have your operatives issue threats that go uninvestigated.

Not allowed to criticize politicians.

Don't worry though, I'm 90% sure that leftists will be given a free pass to threaten the lives of politicians like Cruz...while the Capitol police look the other way and pretend not to see anything. Just like the FBI did.
