I just found out that half of all births in the US are paid for by Medicaid

That blew my mind. It also covers 1/4 of Americans in general for their healthcare. This number seems unsustainable. Shouldn't this program exist to help eventually wean people off of it? But it seems like the number of people who rely on this program is growing.
I guess I don't really have a point other than basically being dumbstruck that that many people are born needing government assistance.

We are the land of the losers.

Yep
Liberals love to claim America doesn’t have “free healthcare”….but an astounding number of Americans are on Medicaid.
And I don’t think Medicaid even has copays

The working class are so fricked in this country. We reward bad habits

Couples used to get married, have a honeymoon, and have a baby in that order. Now there are big incentives to have the baby on Uncle Stupid's dime and get married later (for some).

When my first kid was born, my wife and I were separated for a bit when they asked her questions before being admitted. They told her she had to pay $900 or she couldn't be admitted to be induced. She didn't know any better and just gave them our CC. There was a younger, black girl in labor in the waiting room who was clearly dipping and spitting into a coffee cup...think they told her she had to pay $900 or she couldn't be admitted?

Everything you've been told by your government and the media about the United States of America is an absolute lie. This country is an absolute perversion of what it was supposed to be.

It pays transportation and hotel for those in the villages.
They take advantage of it too. I see some of the same ones every week.

Yet if someone proposed raising the minimum wage 2 dollars an hour you'd probably have a conniption fit

Well most ppl have kids young, most young kids having kids early pretty much screams possible mistake. We had ours early, but it was after ensuring a position in my career to ensure the success. I'm not a brilliant man, but most ppl don't give a shite about their kids or choices in life and how it affects others.

We are very close to more "Takers" then "Makers"

I'd argue that we're well beyond that point

Most states expanded Medicaid under Obamacare. Ours and several others refused thinking that the federal dollars would run out and we as a state would have to fund more of it. It's a tough spot to be in. Hospitals can't refuse patients about to deliver (EMTALA) and they would go broke delivering babies (many of them pre-mature due to poor prenatal care) without some reimbursement from Medicaid. I'm glad I'm out of it.

You think these leeches will work for minimum wage

yeah, people say we dont have free healthcare but we do.
People also think these other countries like australia only have public healthcare. They dont. Plenty of people use private. Like with birthing, because public healthcare fricking sucks.
