For those wanting Max as the starter, take a look at each Qb's best game as a starter. Brennan's best game came against Missouri, where he was 29/48 for 430 yds, with a completion % of 60.4%, an avg of 9.0 yards per completion, 4 Tds, with a long of 75yds, a RTG of 163.2, and a QBR of 74.1. Now looks a Max's best game stat wise, which was against Ole Miss, where he 27/51 for 435 yds, a completion % of 52.9, avg of 8.5 per completion, 3 tds, with a long of 47yds, 1 INT, RTG of 140.1, and QBR of 59.6. Now looking and comparing the 2, I'm going to have to roll with Brennan as the starter, his QBR is better, his completion % is better, he's a veteran, and throws the long ball better, where Max's long balls tend to float and the Wrs have to come back to the ball. I know aloy of people on this board want to roll with Max because he has the "IT" factor, can run better...but until I can see where he's clearly better than Myles, I'm gonna roll with the veteran

I expect Brennan to start unless for some reason he just isn't back to his self from last year post injury but his leash will be super small

Are we really going to do this thread twice a day all the way until the season starts?

Brennan’s to lose or share. That will be played out on the field.

I still think its odd that O has stressed the "2019 Joe Brady RPO Offense" this season and the choice not being Max. IMHO Myles is more talented at the moment, Max fits better.

Burrows option to do run/pass/QB run was what made that RPO lethal.

WR, RB, and OL has to be more improved than the QB play from 2020. This really isn’t about Max or Myles being ready to be Burrow. The other 10 positions need more improvement

Those stats are pretty but if you watch the Missouri game, Brennan struggled on third down and on the goal line.

LSU was 0/10 on 3rd downs that game. Most of those were passing plays.

Anyone have stats on Brennan and Johnson on 3rd down and stats in the red zone?

Bottomline. Max is better because he opens more of the playbook for Peetz because Max has better all around physical tools. But Brennan will probably start.

QBs are responsible for more than just throwing stats

Take a look at average number of sacks, time of possession, and rushing yards for the team when each is starting

while you are correct in this statement, you are missing the point. it is the qb position that will help put these guys in position to win.

i have said for a while that the advantage Brennan has will be the fact that he has graduated already. he will be a full time football player. time to spend in the video room braking down defensive tendencies. Presnap calls should be an advantage for Brennan. however, if this turns out to not become an advantage for Brennan, the he will not see much of the field this coming year.

While this is true, Max was able to make plays when the oline, RBs, and WRs couldn’t. His ability to run makes him the obvious choice to be the starter.
