Yep, sounds about right.

You think that stretch is bad, try speeding through Metter.

Other news site says bridge deck has to be demolished and rebuilt. Highway can reopen once the damaged decking is removed.

Did the driver of the truck keep going?

That almost looks intentional.

1. How fast do you need to be going with a dump truck loaded with some tractor tires to knock a fixed span of concrete overpass 6 feet?
2. The bed being fully extended with him driving at Mack 1 was a death wish maneuver

Like I said in the OP, 16 is a speedway. Even big trucks haul arse.

Be a good spot for Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane to stake out for those Duke boys out of Hazzard County. They always find those bridges that are down.

That's a helluva shift for a fixed roadway, but that ain't no 6 feet.

3 feet maybe, judging by the white line offset. Still pretty impressive.

I think we can all sympathize with wanting to run into an overpass while making that drive

This is dead arse in the middle of 16 between Macon and Savannah.

And there's no real good way to get around it if you are north of Macon and trying to get to the Georgia coast.

I can’t tell by the pics, but dump truck drivers are some of the worst drivers on earth. They floor it and act like they’re driving a Dodge Charger.

They're using golf putt standards

"he's got a tricky 14 footer here"

audience - that's like 6 feet

I-16 is one lonely stretch of road. You can also haul some major arse. 90 is a popular speed on that highway.

When I was growing up in Savannah, I drove the entire length of I-16 (170 miles) in just under 90 minutes.

And I did it on more than one occasion. It was a very empty highway back in the late 80s/early 90s.

Or, some average white boy whose wife thinks she's gettin' a solid 9 when it's barely 4 in reality.
