Was on the reddit cfb page this morning and posters are saying 2 separate big ten rivals mods have reports this morning that "sources within the conference" expect the ACC to add ND for FB soon, and PSU will join as a counterbalance.

Would be an interesting development to say the least.

PSU for many years was not happy with big ten officiating, but they seem to be content now.

Reddit isn’t a reliable source for college football news or insider information… or anything really

I went to the UM rivals site and one of the mods has the story.

I cannot post it here obviously.

I'm assuming they would not be able to stop them but they have to pay their way out of the media grant of rights from what I can find online.

Deal ends in 2027 and is 40 mil ish a school a year

So I'm assuming they'd be paying 200+ Mil at min to get out of it

Sounds like nonsense for both ND and Penn State

I don’t buy it…Would be shocked if PennSt left Big10

Currently, Big10 still has highest per school TV payout of all conferences. Last time I checked, Big10 was ~$55mil per school, SEC ~$45mil, ACC ~$30mil

Don’t believe just because it doesn’t really make sense for PSU to jump to the ACC.

Also feel like Notre Dame would be a better fit in the Big 10

Right the Notre Dame part seems plausible even though I don’t think it’s the best fit. That was two separate thoughts

The Penn State part is what’s making me skeptical

If the playoffs gives autobids to 5 conference champions, they would be at a competitive disadvantage for the first time for being independent.

I see it differently. Imgaine how easy it would be as a big brand team to maneuver your way to being just in the top 12 when you get to hand pick your schedule

Yeah I think it’s just a matter of time before Notre Dame joins either the ACC or Big10…but Penn State to the ACC is not very believable.

It has more to do with $$ for Notre Dame than the playoffs, though. With conference networks, they are falling behind financially. The NBC contract is good, but can’t compete overall with the big boys.
