I'm not sure. I didn't know all 10 subgrades were a requirement.

To get a black label pristine 10, all sub grades have to be 10. If there's one 9.5 and three 10s in the subs, it's a gem mint gold label 10, which shares the same label as a 9.5

So I have a mint condition Cal Ripken rookie card… never had it graded but it’s perfect.

Topps traded? I doubt it's perfect since cards rarely even came out of the packs perfect back then, but it's still a $100 card in PSA 7/8

I remember about 3 years ago looking at eBay and seeing Jordan and Brady autograph cards going for under $500. I was so close to pulling the trigger but I said meh. Damn should have could have and DIDN’T

oh well life goes on. I have some great cards but no way I am buying a Brady or Jordan auto now.

They are working through the backlog. PSA was up to $300 minimum at one point to grade one card. Now they have a $50 service level open. So it’s been getting better overall. A bunch of decent options out there for not that much money.

HGA gets a lot of hate, but they have started to do horizontal slabs for your horizontal cards. It’s like $40-$50 bucks to get one of those, but if you have a horizontal PC Card you want to display, more than a random card you want to grade and flip, it’s not a bad idea from a collecting standpoint.

I've looked at doing a horizontal slab with them, but their labels are God awful imo

I think the normal color splash labels are kind of iffy, but some of their “custom” labels are pretty cool. For instance, I have a downtown card of Manny Machado and the label has a detailed downtown skyline with a helicopter in the background lol. I think it’s pretty sweet. But it’s probably not for everyone.

The entire industry is a shite show right now.

This is correct.

And for all things that Wall Street touches, they make money on the initial runup, inflate the value of the entire market, take the money from the late arriving suckers and bail before the whole thing goes tits up, leaving the "regular folks" to take a bath.

2020 was the first two steps.

2021 was the third step, and we're rapidly entering the fourth step.

Print runs for 2022 product is through the roof, so we're clearly in the Junk Wax 2.0 era. Cards are being sold everywhere, like they were in the 80s.

PSA graded 13,000 basic-arse Zion Hoops rookie cards.

Boxes of basic-arse product like Donruss football, Hoops and Topps F1 are $3-4-500 per box.

For reference, prior to 2020, every year in November, I would buy products like this from Dave and Adams and open boxes of stuff over Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Boxes of soccer product that I was buying 3-4 years ago for $20-40 were/are selling for hundreds or thousands.

It's all going to come crashing down.

My money has been on the sidelines for the past couple of years. I'll jump back in once everyone with a parachute has jumped out and people who don't have lost their arse.

On the bright side, at least people aren't fighting in Target parking lots for product anymore.

A Kobe Bryant card was sold privately last week for $2 million, PWCC Marketplace announced Tuesday, the highest a Bryant card has ever brought.
The sale is notable in that the card -- a 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Emerald -- is not a rookie card, nor does it boast an autograph or game-used memorabilia swatch.

The Precious Metal Gems are nice looking and rare. But I don't get all the insane money being thrown at them.

I used to have a few Bryant rookies. The first time I listed them was right after his final game when he dropped 60 plus. And didn't even get a bid.
