Thermacell or one of those mosquitoes traps that go on a five gallon propane bottle. The first for north of I10 mosquitos the second for south of I10 mosquitos.

Cutter Backyard lawn spray works for a couple of weeks after spraying depending on how much rain there is also.

My neighbor's wife puts Rosemary cuttings around on their back porch. It seems to work pretty well.

Second the fan, more cfm’s the better.

My personal house and I sat outside a lot? I would fog it. At our lake house we use fans and it works fine. I have put out candles and they’ve worked but you have to sit downwind

I spray Talstar once a quarter and don’t have issues. I turned my neighbor onto it as well which has really helped the cause.

The only time this has failed me is when I had to wear a head net to fish.

If you sit outside often or just don't want them around make a nice breeding spot for them. Then put in the mosquito eating fish. After a cycle or two of breeding there will be a super low amount of mosquitos in your little area.
I mean I'm in the midwest, so if you are in a swampy area that may not work. I originally got that idea from a guy in Hawaii who has an aquaponics farm outside in a rainforest though and he bets people money to find mosquitos...

YardGuard. We started spraying that stuff years ago around our duck blinds in the marsh as soon as we get there and before we started putting out decoys. You do this or they will absolutely destroy you. I’m talking clouds of them sorry bastards. As soon as you empty an entire can it literally forms a deflector shield around you. Literally you can see the swarm hovering over the YardGuard layer. It works so good at the blind it works even better in the burbs.
The downside is I’m sure it probably takes a year or so off ur life inhaling that stuff as much as we spray it since we have mosquitoes well into December.
