Sad situation.

quote:

A teenager is dead after deputies said she jumped out of a moving car while arguing with her mother Monday night.
quote:

Deputies said the teen, who is possibly 15-years-old, was arguing with her mom when she jumped out of the moving vehicle. The teen was then struck by an unknown car that fled the scene
quote:

The teen was pronounced dead on the scene

Now, imagine driving 80 mph on the way home from a frustrating day at work, only to have a teenager jump out the car in front of you directly into your lane of traffic. Terrible for all involved in that ordeal.

Feel sorry for the mom and the person that hit the kid.

Why would the driver flee the scene?

Given what you see going down the highway these days, they were likely playing with their phone and thought they hit some road debris and kept going.

Good question. Pretty shitty if they realized they hit someone and kept going.

Damn. I can't imagine being the mom.

Aren't doors supposed to stay locked at a certain speed?

I’m trying to think of something my mom could have said to me when I was 15 to make me jump out of the car to my death.

Nope, drawing a blank.

Relatives just gave me these pictures of Maddison Taylor. They said she had a hard life, but at just 15, she also had her whole life in front of her.
@houstonpolice say she was arguing with her mom Monday night on I-45 when she got out of the car onto the freeway. Then, she became the victim of a hit and run.
Ahead on @abc13houston after the game, what her cousins say they need in order to find closure.

Obviously we have no idea what happened here but this or fear is entirely possible. The amount of drivers that are on their phone while driving is almost unbelievable. If a car is weaving in front of you, 90% of the time when you finally slip past them you see some idiot flapping their gums completely unaware they are occupying 2 lanes of traffic 15 mph below the speed limit.

The girl took her own life. Don't feel sorry for her a bit, but the mom must be having a shitty time, and I certainly feel for her.
