SIAP...
But I saw this mentioned OB and was wondering if anyone has used one. An electric 5 gallon bucket with a water heater element. Baw does 15# of shrimp. Thinking it would be good for a beach trip, or a gift.

Watched his video of boiling shrimp. Pretty cool idea, but dude boiled shrimp for 10 minutes.

I imagine you don't want that water to get too hot might be why he is taking longer.

Wonder how long the bucket lasts. It's kinda cool, but I may not be able to get past boiling in a plastic bucket. Doesn't seem safe, even though I just read that it is for food safe buckets.

he is probably boiling at a lower temp than we are used to in order to protect the plastic.

Depends on the altitude.

And at about 230F in Denver. In a pressure cooker at 10psi, almost 300F.
If you put it under vacuum, it can boil at room temp. I was curious if his contraption did it under vacuum. It does not.

He threw that cold corn in with the shrimp. Probably took another 30min to come back to a boil.
