Professional golfer Gene Siller was shot and killed on Saturday while at the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia, according to local reports and the Georgia State Golfing Association.
"All of us at the GSGA are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred earlier today at Pinetree CC. Our thoughts and prayers are with Gene Siller’s family and friends," the Georgia State Golfing Association tweeted on Saturday.
Siller, a husband and father of two, was reportedly responding to an issue on the course's 10th hole when a man in a white truck pulled his vehicle onto a sand trap nearby, according to the Post. When Siller went to talk with the man in the vehicle, he was shot and later died.
The course is near Kennesaw State University and the KSU Office of Emergency Management tweeted on Saturday that the suspect "is a Hispanic Male considered armed and dangerous. Suspect is 6'1" and 170 lbs and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt."

You’re not technically wrong but a better OP title would have been “club pro killed….”

Pro golfer is kinda generous
He played on some mini tour stuff, if you can shoot mid 70s and pay your fee anybody can do those
Awful though

They literally said Hispanic male. It’s also like a 60% white school. Pine tree isn’t in a bad part of town either. Have a couple friends who worked there in HS and college and some that are members. It’s a decent course.

Someone must have grounded their club and went apeshit when called out.

Sorry I thought he was a pro golfer just playing at the country club when it happened.

I guess if that’s what qualifies as a pro golfer then I’m one too...sans being shot.

I guess that's one way to play through

Didn’t their quarterback just get shot last week?

The QB was shot to death in a hail of gunfire when someone opened up on a car the kid was riding in.
Over 50 rounds pummeled the car.

Was there already an issue and then guy just pulled up into sand traps between the green and the pond/lake coming from a neighborhood street or was the truck in sand trap the issue he was responding to in first place?
Just wondering sequence of events.

Country club golf course killings seem to disproportionately affect country club golfers.

If you earn your living playing golf, in any capacity, are you not a professional golfer? Just because you aren’t on the PGA winning millions of dollars doesn’t make a difference.
