I have always felt that Myles had a slight advantage there over Max. Brennan was coming off the injury and now with more time to rehab, I think the spot is his to lose, but we all see the talent and savvy of Johnson. Both are good players; different style players in how they get it done.

He says a lot more about Nuss than he does the 2 that may start the season

quote:

Garrett Nussmeier is such an interesting player to me. He’s not this tall pocket passer of a quarterback. He’s a little over 6-foot to me, and he moves so well in the pocket. His movement skills and his ability to find the open man is intriguing. He’s just a freshman, but he’s a different style QB from what we have seen at LSU. Full of energy and very confidant. You can see he’s a gamer.

Brennan was on pace to have a great year before the injury.

I’m fine with him starting. However, I think the battle will come down to mobility in pocket.

Brennan did well last year but he didn't have the guidance Burrow had the previous year. If Peetz truly is the guy who can carry the Brady torch, plus with Munoz back to help with the blitzes, Brennan will fair far better on 3rd down and red zone opportunities.

Brennan showed flashes of brilliance last year

Johnson was extremely steady and smart, especially for a Freshamn, but there was no flashes

Id say its Brennan's to lose as well

He also said Joe Burrow wouldn’t win the heisman.

Find me a reputable non acid taking human that said Burrow would win the Heisman before 2019

Sounds like Johnny Manziel style

minus throwing for 675 yards and 6 TDs and running for 2 more in two games.

Ah yeah, that's a good one. Matches that description better than Johnny.

Max starts and better fits what we want to do. Mobility and touch on intermediate passing is the key.

I like Myles, but I feel after last season, Coach O will base everything they do and the decisions they make on if it can beat Alabama. Again I like Myles, but I don’t see his QB style beating bama. Nothing Brennan does will worry a Saban defense. Not that we’ve seen enough from Max, but every team that has beaten bama in the last decade had a QB that could run and pass.

I think (and I could be wrong) that he just meant Johnson is steady and consistent, but doesn't make elite (brilliant) plays. Brennan has a rocket launcher and definitely made some throws that not many humans can make. Can't coach arm strength like that.

If you can get him to be more consistent you get the best of both worlds. The mobility of Johnson is definitely an advantage though. Brennan isn't Finley or Mett back there, but he can't move like Johnson.

Walker Howard will be a Bama killer. I can't fricking wait to get that kid on campus.

I have no clue who will be the starter, personally I think Myles takes the first snaps but I wouldn’t bet money on it. One thing Detillier said that I absolutely agree with though, it’s Myles job to lose, whether that’s right or wrong.

It’s great knowing that whoever wins the job LSU will have a stud behind center.
