This is so much unnecessary BS. The only real race tracking the powers that be care about is: black, Mexican/Central/South American, and other. Just cut the shite. They’re not trying to mine data on Asians, Indians, Pacific Islanders, etc. In fact, my guess is what is of statistical interest is probably: black, not black.

When I went to the census site the other day it was laid out exactly like that: black, not black, hispanic, not hispanic.
Interesting that hispanics jumped to 23% and blacks stayed flat. They also mined hispanics in Mexico to count them, which I thought was strange.

The black population has remained constant for decades. The white population is shrinking because of non-white Hispanic immigration.

There was certainly an Obama effect in 08 and 12, but that only tells part of the story. Trump should get credit for winning back some of those blacks who had voted Obama twice but then voted Trump over Obama's VP. About 7% of the total black vote falls into that category.
By the same token, Bush's hispanic numbers are a bit inflated due to the Texas effect.
To sum it up, there has not been a GOP candidate in the last 10 elections who bested Trump's 2020 minority vote share and still lost. Considering the context, he crushed it with minorities.
To use a sports analogy: let's say if you convert 50% of your 3rd downs and win the turnover ratio, you have a 95% chance of winning the game. Team Trump met those benchmarks in 2020 but didn't win the game.

Exactly.
R's are slowly gaining vote share among the minority groups, but it's being offset by minorities making up a larger percentage of the electorate.

There is a positive side. Economics tells us that when a commodity is scarce and needed it becomes very valuable.
So, in the future when there are few white people it will go like this:
Boss: 'We screwed up again. Doesn't anyone know how to fix this stuff?'
Worker: 'We might have to find a white guy. But they're very expensive.'
Boss: 'Find one now!'
