Any of y'all into ancestry?

Have done extensive research on my family. My ancestors were employed by the Allen bros as a survey crew to stake the lines to a city that would be named after Sam Houston. I wear an Astros hat for this reason. Could care less for the team

Yeah but tired of paying for it when it really just gave me "suggestions"

No but my Grandmother is crazy into genealogy, she’s also a serious member of the UDC. According to her I’m related to William Wallace and Richard the Lionheart. We also had a family member who fought for both sides in the Civil War, he apparently started for the south then got captured and fought for the north and then got captured by the south. It’s a running joke in my family that he was one of the first American spy’s

How much more could you care less?
I laugh at the ancestry commercials. Everyone has a famous relative that did something great.
I wanna see a commercial where their forefathers were the town drunks, beat their wives, and was just a complete POS.

take down the statues
My GG grandfather has a statue that would be considered objectionable by today's standards. The statue is pretty far off the beaten path and has yet to draw any attention.

It wasn’t a joke. And don’t call your sister a wooly mammoth.

Once I put everyone I knew into the data base I started getting "suggested" family members but some could not be confirmed.

My family's patriarch arrived in North America in late-October 1737 via Philadelphia. I drove to NYC last weekend and when we crossed over the Delaware, I couldn't help thinking that the original RollTide1987 sailed up that river all those years ago. We settled in northern Virginia before slowly spreading out across the country.

It’s funny you say that, I traced mine back to a man who the Indians called “Ol Fork Tongue Watts” who was a “Trader” and took many Indian wives! Haha. From what I have been told if you even mention his name to the Cherokee nation, they will run you out!!

I used to be into it pretty hard, until I hit roadblocks and quit.
Most interesting thing I learned: My gr-gr-grandfather was captured by Union forces at High Bridge, Va., three days before the Appomattox surrender. He was being held as a POW right outside the town where Lee and Grant sat down and signed the papers.

I don't want my serial killer relatives to be caught so no.

Richard died childless 900 years ago. If you’re related to Richard then you’re related to other Plantagenets.
Basically everyone who does a family tree magically gets linked to a famous person or royal. Just like everyone in south Mississippi is related to Brett Favre.

I’m interested in it, but not enough to spend much time looking into it. My mom did a bunch of research in the late 90s and traced her family’s lineage back to the early 1600s in Ireland.

A little. Not enough to pay for it.
Once I get outside the United States I can't find anything anyway.
