Peak Baton Rouge is Albertsons at Old Hammond/Airline

(Dear Facebook)
5pm, cop car parked in front of the door. I run in with my son to get groceries (obviously)
A mother with an infant and a preschooler are walking parallel to me when they look back their car to laugh loudly and call out “Boy, you wrong for that!!” I turn around and see that this fairly young kid (7-8 at the oldest) is pissing in the parking lot. In broad daylight in a busy area of town. The mom with absolutely no shame thinks it’s funny...
The cop who obviously can’t write a kid a citation, doesn’t even bother to lecture the mother. (It was definitely in his view).
My faith in humanity, or at least Baton Rouge to be livable for my son as he grows up, is finally destroyed.
Later in the store a different mother with 2 daughters (one about 8-9, holding a babydoll) crosses paths with me and my son...and the one with the doll in her hands walks up to me and says “Happy Fathers Day!”
I thanked her for the kind words. My faith restored. She finished up with “and remember our Lord and Savior Jesus loves you.”...which is very odd thing to say to a grownup you don’t know. Mother does even bat an eye.
All in all, the experience perfectly encapsulates the mediocrity of this city (as well as this mediocre post), A shitty place to live that occasionally gives a glimmer of hope only to yank it away.
TLDR; there are morons in every direction in this shithole of a city.

I’m sure the girl’s mom went home and told everyone about her awful experience at shithole Albertson’s between watching a kid piss in the parking lot and a grown arse man getting triggered enough by her 8 year old daughter making a religious comment to write a novel about it on the OT Lounge

I yes how insane is it to think pissing in plainview is acceptable action for children to do or parents accept?
The triggering was at the mother in both instances.
But this is the OT where a few paragraphs is a novel.

I worked at the downtown library for a few years and the men’s bathroom was on the 3rd floor then. I told the adult male patron where it was, he says thank you and proceeded to piss by the elevator door.
Outside would’ve been ideal, or maybe even the 3rd floor bathroom

I was working for a small grocery store chain in high school, maybe my first week getting buggies as the store was closing... back when stores closed at 9pm. Well, this little kid and mother try to get in the store but were turned away at the door, they come back out and the mother directs the kid to pee on the tire of this nice SUV, I assumed it was hers and thought it was odd. Well he finishes and they get into the car next to it... This was the 25 some odd years ago in Baton Rouge.

I was there the other day buying groceries. I was at the check out line and the lady in front was almost done. I looked at her cart and it was filled over its capacity. Of course, I jumped to conclusion. Cashier said $366.68. She whipped out the ebt card and my suspicion confirmed. Then I look at the cart and it was filled with nothing but processed food...chips, cereal with sugar, soft drinks, frozen pizza. After she was gone, I paid for my stuff which came around $25. Haven’t lived in BR proper since I was 23yo. Do not miss it one bit. As much as I hate to admit it, it has become a major shithole in many areas. Hell, I grew up in 70805 with some salt-o-the-earth people. Shame what BR has become.

Then you have a problem.
I say the 2nd mother is doing a great job of raising a respectful and God loving child. Even if you don't believe in God, what is the harm in living like He exists? You got triggered over a small child being kind to you, think about that.
