I really like my Palisade Zoysia sod as well. I wish I could get it in seed and do more of my yard with it.
If prepping for sod, I’d suggest at least two rounds of glyphosate about 2 weeks apart. Cut it as short as possible, and then try to rake up as much dead as possible. There’s debate on whether to till or not to till the soil prior to installation.
