Frick today's begging panhandlers and the idiots who give them money

I got approached by a panhandler on the way into Target, on the way out from Target, and there was also a dude holding a cardboard sign at the exit to the parking lot to Target.
Every damned business out there that is looking to hire unskilled labor(i.e. fast food) is BEGGING for workers right now. Yet these people want to beg for money in Target parking lots or hold cardboard signs.
People giving them money are part of the problem as well. These people can go get one of hundreds of jobs available right now. No, instead they want to come up to me and give me some sob story about how he is behind on rent and if he could wash my windshield for a couple of dollars. I told him I have no cash on me and even if I did I wouldn't give it to him and pointed to the massive NOW HIRING banners displayed outside the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Panda Express, PETCO and IHOP in the very parking lot we were standing in. Guy goes onto say he has a disability and cant work. bullshite, his "disability" is that he is a worthless drug addict looking for his next fix. He is perfectly fine to troll the parking lot of a Target in record breaking 116 degree heat, therefore he should be perfectly OK to blend smoothies at Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

People giving them money are 100% the problem, not the bums

I don't know English when these folks approach me. It really makes them mad.

If you give money to bums you are no better than them

Lol! Just blow them off and move on with your life. You’ll give yourself a heart attack

Last Saturday there was a beggar convieniently stationed at the exit to the Wal Mart parking lot.
He had a sign that read "TODAY IS MY SON'S BIRTHDAY" and what I am guessing an 8-9 year old kid next to him.
If this really was his son, what a failure of a father. Leaving his 8 year old kid, supposedly on his birthday, to stand outside in 110 degree heat. Plus,hHe was standing right between a Del Taco and Burger King, both with NOW HIRING banners on their building as well as on their marquee signs. If he really gave a shite about his kid he would be working in there instead of trying to beg for money from stupid idiots actually falling for the "its my son's birthday" scam. Sad to use an 8 year old as a begging prop.
I saw this last fall in Texas too. It was about 50 degrees and raining and there was an entire "family" also at the entrance to a Wal Mart begging for money. Why would you subject your kids to having to sit in 50 degree rain weather so you can use them as a begging prop.
It sickens me

I haven't really thought about it until now but there's no bums, homeless or begging people where we live in Texas.
I would assume the city keeps them out

There’s a group of them underneath the overpass of 290 here in Houston that must have caught fire the other night. I always see them camped underneath in clusters but the other day I noticed it was mostly cleared and there are scorch marks up the concrete wall.
They should do that more often.

There was a metric frick ton of them in Arlington/Mansfield, where I lived last fall. On every exit ramp for I-20 and 287. And at the Wal Mart I pointed out above.
When I visit my uncle in Houston(he lives near the energy corridor off Westheimer) they used to have a lot of beggars but they added rocks to the medians of streets so there is less begging there. At least that part of Houston is doing something.

I really don’t get how people have not learned to stop giving bums money. You aren’t helping them. The best thing for them would to be completely cut off. Force them to do something else

They are addicts. Giving them money only supports their addiction.

There’s also signs saying ‘Don’t give to panhandlers” and then a web address of group to help the needy. I don’t know how much that actually helps but at least those areas don’t encourage it.
They’re still everywhere though, thick as mosquitoes all throughout Houston. I’m not really ‘well traveled’ but I assume it’s this bad in most large cities.

I have encountered the parking lot orchestra of unemployed “violinists” blaring horrible violin with a begging sign asking for donations. I gave one guy 5 bucks to not play for 15 minutes.

Those guys aren't playing. It's a recording.

They just put these all over Lafayette.

The effect this has on quality of life can not be understated. If I wanted to live in fricking Juarez, Mexico I would move there.
