The trick is to hit them up for money before they can ask you. I like to ask them if they have some chapstick I can borrow.

The first beggars I ever saw was in Columbus when I was a college student in the 90's, but I think Columbus has really cleaned it up and I don't see them out anymore.

Now, in my fairly nice exurbs we have them lined up by lights by the Lowe's, Wal-Marks, and various intersections. Old woman sitting in a wheelchair baking in the sun at Wal-Marks the other day. Give me a break.

The level of people some of these companies are employing...I mean, they will find something real simple for you to do nowadays. There really is no excuse.

What does this have to do with anything?

I took a $60,000 lump sum severance payment/contract buyout in December 2020 because the company I was working for was looking to make cuts and wanted salaries off the books for 2021 and I took it. I also had plenty of money saved up in addition to that. Why would I beg for money when I had near 6 figures in the bank around Christmas time? I could live off that for multiple years if I wanted to.

If you really have to give, give them a few $1 scratch offs. You’ll feel better and they will usually be losers anyway.

I don't know English when these folks approach me. It really makes them mad.

I did this in Vancouver. The crack-ho was pretty pissed when I started speaking Spanish to her.

Part of why it was so loud and obnoxious. They seem like gypsies.

When I lived in New Orleans I would offer food. Legit poors would accept, grifters would have a clever excuse.

No doubt

If you want to help carry a case of water in your vehicle to hand out. My nearest bum gets Harry and David sausage assortments around Xmas every year.

really don’t get how people have not learned to stop giving bums money. You aren’t helping them. The best thing for them would to be completely cut off. Force them to do something else

Everyone once in a while I will toss a bum a twenty spot on a weekend night so he can get fricked up and get some bum pussy.
