Just bought a new M2 and wanted to get some opinions. Everything I read has been great. Thanks in advance!

Dang good gun.

Are you using it for hunting or competition?

I bought an M4 last month and have put some Taran Tactical aftermarket components on it. It runs really good now (not that it didn’t before)

If you really wanted opinions, you would have asked before you purchased...haha

In all seriousness, you'll love it. I have one in 20g and it is a great gun. Hard to beat, imo.

I bought mine at the end of last years duck season and love it so far. I've done a lot of research before "pulling the trigger" and it's one of the best on the market imo.
Have a muller choke tube coming in this week to pattern test

Right

Beretta is basically the same gun for much less. In fact, some of the Beretta models are much better than their Benelli counterparts.

Shot SBE’s 12g for 20 years. Picked up an M2 20g last year and love it. Will shoot it most of dove/duck/goose/crane/turkey this year.

Smooth operating cycle. Performed well in dry, wet and cold scenarios.

First statement is simply wrong. Second statement contains a false premise.

Beretta makes some great shotguns for good value - but they're totally different from Benelli. Most notably, Berettas are gas operated, Benellis are inertia.

Went on a helicopter hog hunt last weekend and we used M2s. It was smooth as butter shooting buckshot. Really nice guns and a badass way to shoot them

I knew I would get hammered for that and that’s OK. I have a A400 as well But I really like the ergonomics of this gun a little better. The Beretta is super soft shooting but recoil is not an issue for me.I appreciate all the feedback you guys are giving!

Explain how an inertia is the same as a gas operated gun?

There is nothing factual about that statement.

They're both great quality, Italian made shotguns owned by the same parent company.

Mechanics are different between the models, but the gas system is much lighter (and faster on the semi-autos) which is why I said Beretta is better in some cases. It really depends on what you like and want.

You can't go wrong with either, but for the money Beretta is usually a better value.

I don’t think the SBE2 is heavier than the A400

Actually just looked it up

SBE2 and SBE3 both weight 6.9-7 lbs
Beretta A400 weights 7.4 lbs

Customer support between Beretta and Benelli could not be more polar opposite. I love my original Xtrema, but the fact is that it’s barely usable due to a deteriorating gummy stock and forend. Beretta told me tough luck. Similar issue with a secondhand Benelli and they sent me a brand new $400 stock set after a 90-second phone conversation.

I don’t understand how the most expensive shotgun in its class at a given time isn’t a lifetime firearm with light to moderate use. I’ll never own another Beretta auto.
