He made some interesting suggestions to take a more aggressive approach to my investment strategy.

Anybody want to look over my allocations and make recommendations to see if they match up with his?

This is my current allocation distribution. (excuse the picture quality)

Or 2. Or 1. Otherwise intelligent people make investing out to be much more complicated than it needs to be.

I agree with the too many funds comments.

I will assume you are fairly young, so you may consider putting it all in VT and call it a day.

Good luck.

Why do you need a financial consultant?

Pick a low-fee index fund and call it a day.

Buy a dividend blue chip and get rid of all of that trash.

I'm 45 and just started teaching five years ago. This is what is in my 403B that I recently converted to a 403B Roth.

Does that change your opinion?

Poor choice of words? Account manager maybe a more appropriate term.

Put 15K each in 2 blue chip stocks with solid dividends.

This financial consultant is taking your money. I see he put you in American Funds. A lot of the American Funds are "front loaded" to the tune of 5.75%. I would check on this if I where you.

I bet most of these funds he put you in are "loaded".

Nah.

This is a 403B plan. You can see the options available. Dude doesn’t get paid based on which one you choose. He gets paid based on the plans total assets.

That being said, this is a weird fund lineup. Vanguard total stock market index is probably your best bet.

So are you saying put 100% into that fund?

I’m saying that’s a great core holding for US stocks. You may want some international stocks too, and New World and/or Euro Pacific might be suitable for your needs.
