If these 5 things happen:

1) they uncover a Friday night starter.

2) if 3 of 4 of the following return: Dugas, Bianco, Labas & Hilliard

3) the new coach makes the tough decision to process some upperclassmen. Beloso & milazzo, something has to give. If your last name ends in -ord, might want to look around.

4)they are able to recruit the transfer portal with success after the dust settles: lead off hitter type, & catcher are two main priorities. A high upside arm that could compete for a weekend spot would be nice as well.

5)some guys move around positions. I think Arnold to OF. Bianco to 2B. Do you explore Morgan to the OF to open 1B for another offensive player? Do you approach Crews & see if he’s open to catching?

Would love if the new coach is open to a two way player. They won’t give more scholarships, so make use of what you have.

I think #1 is going to be the hardest thing. I think the other stuff will play out.

Agree on everything except for processing milazzo. No reason we cant be in omaha at least once in the next two years

Do they have to cut the roster back to normal next season?

Wtf?

How about we leave our best hitter alone and just get a catcher with at least average hitting ability?

I believe he has one year left if he wants it.

Bianco to 2B.

I think you let Dugas try to prove to scouts that he can play 2B.

Is there any evidence he can catch? I honestly don’t know.

I thought seniors were basically given a one year extension. Maybe I’m wrong.

I think the following guys will 100% contribute in the lineup next year (if they're back)

Morgan
Crews
Dugas
Doughty
Bianco - i think he finally figured it out.
Arnold
Gio - has to stay healthy

I think the three most important position players heading into next year are Thompson, Drost, and Travinski. All you're really asking out of Drost and Travisnki is to hit .250+ with 12+ home runs. They can strike out alot (and they will), but having that kind of power in the line up is something scary.

If Travinski and Drost progress like they should and are capable of doing, and Thompson just gets a little stronger and more patient at the plate, you have an SEC contending lineup, with homerun power at 1-9.

1. Morgan 1B
2. Crews RF
3. Dugas DH/LF
4. Doughty 3B
5. Drost DH/LF
6. Travinski C
7. Bianco/Arnold 2B
8. Thompson SS
9. Gio/Bianco/ CF

Correct. They’re listed on the roster as their normal year but have the option for another season. The only players who don’t were first year freshmen and first year jucos.

Yes. That’s what I get for taking Moscona’s word. Haha

He wasn’t a Sr last year though, he was a Jr

Everyone’s eligibility froze.

LSUs roster labeled everyone’s class as if Covid didn’t happen but most other schools reflected the Covid redshirt on theirs

So the freshmen from last year were still labeled freshmen this year. Whereas LSU labeled their freshmen from last year as sophomores

I was with you until you dropped these two incredibly crazy statements.
You have a legit 5 tool player in Crews and you want him to catch?
Tre Morgan saved countless runs at 1st this year, is the best 1st baseman in college baseball and it’s not even close, and you suggest he move to the OF?

He’s a very good first baseman. If we have capable infielders to make routine throws (which we didn’t this year) he could be more valuable in OF. At the next level he’s almost assuredly in the outfield

Morgan is a good defensive first baseman, and he’s VERY good there for a freshman, but his defense is overstated. Best defensive first baseman in the country? Come on.
