MH was on a roll to end the fifth. He was battling arm-to-arm against a good opposing pitcher in a close super regional ballgame, and was winning, How was he rewarded? He got yanked for a freshman. I don’t get it.

I still think Coleman looked confident and pitched well. He wasn’t helped by his teammates, had a couple of important close pitches not go his way, and the Vols managed to slap a couple into play for runs.

If we did more slapping and less striking out, the win could’ve just as easily been ours.

Agree, pitching was good enough to win this game and many others this year, but lack of hitting and too many strikeouts cost us the game. We have a DH who literally can't hit.

Doughty’s gaffe was huge. Game would have been 2-2 after the 6th.

All true and good points, but Hilliard still earned and deserved to start the 6th. I still don’t get it.

Single, double, 3 walks in the 6th.

I mean, I get the thread to an extent, but what’s your point? Paul needs to go? Well he is.

My point was clear, or so I thought. The kid earned and deserved to start the 6th. Getting yanked right there wasn’t very fair to a kid who’s giving you his best, who’s looking strong and who’s getting the job done for you and his team. He earned and deserved more. That’s my point.

What’s done is done. Can’t change it now. Today’s a new day. Geaux Tigers - Let’s WIN!

You put in the guy you think will help you win, not one who “earned and deserved” it.

I suppose I would understand the decision better if Hilliard was starting to show signs of struggling, but at the time he wasn’t struggling at all. He was dealing. If I’m a Tennessee batter, I’m very happy to see Hilliard get pulled.
