Change one guy retiring for health problems for another guy retirED for health problems. Brilliant strategy, Woody.

Hard pass. Old, pedophile supporter, and anybody that old that retires for "health reasons" needs to get passed over.

I like Pat Casey. His teams always had an air of impenetrability when matched up.

Age is the only factor, of course. 62 isn’t that old by baseball measures.

I don't know...

You're replacing a 60 year that is retiring due to health and burn out with a 60 year that retired 3 years ago due to....health and burn out. Did he discover the fountain of youth while away?

I also don't love you have basically no recruiting ties to this area

There’s so much wrong with it. It’s basically trading places and this guy has recent baggage.

He's won three national championships. He could give us eight to ten good years. I'd be excited, if he came to BR.

Casey definitely has the best resume of any coach "available."

Not sure he would be the best fit, though.

Yes let’s hire someone who hasn’t coached in 3 years and then have him for 5-6 years and have to hire someone all over again. Makes perfect sense

It just means LSU will be looking for a new coach in a few years, which is a pretty big risk.

Sounds like a "too safe" candidate. If he doesn't work out, he will be easy to talk into stepping aside. CYA kind of thing.

Seems like we are leaking out a big name to get our real target to hurry up and give us a decision

Yeah

That story is all kinds of fricked up. And we have our own rape issues at LSU.

3x champion in 6 appearance at Oregon State.... SIGN ME UP. Love a guy who wins 50% of the times he there. Has gotten incredible talent to Oregon state over the years. Always had great pitching and HUGE names. Would be able to recruit the west coast which is packed with talent. Would like it alot even if not for long

Also with our Title IX rape stuff, ummm, this might not be the best plan

What exactly should Casey have done? He recruited and coached a kid for 3 seasons before the story was uncovered. And to be fair, none of us know as much about the case as the coach does. The incident did not happen while the player was at OSU.

They sat the player for the postseason when the news of his past broke, and it likely cost them a national championship.
