he took two years off to dope up. What a loser. I have never had respect for Lance Armstrong and never will.

I never understood Lance haters. It's as if they want America to lose.

Lance cheated. And he's a douchebag.

Both are successful in their field. One admitted to doping and the other did not. Same situation with Lance.

Ok I don't know what your point is. My point is that Marion Jones DEFINITELY doped, and never got caught. This doesn't mean that everyone who doesn't get caught is still doping, but it shows that results really don't mean much. Next, its a little hard to believe a guy so head and shoulder above any rider in the history of the sport is a clean and even the guys doped to the gills cant even get close.

Lance came back just as strong after his cancer but was able to knock off a few pounds, which is extremely important.

My point is very obvious. No proof + wishful thinking = pure speculation

measure red blood counts is a lot easier than trying to detect HGH and designer steroid

Yup. He became a great stage racer after cancer because it killed off his upper body strength, making him a much more dangerous climber than he was before, when he was still built like a triathlete

1. Lance is genetic freak. His VO2 max is off the charts. The only comparable human is Ed Viesturs(summited 14 mountains over 8000 meters without bottled oxygen).
2. Nobody trains as hard and diligent as him.
3. Postal team and Discovery put together the best teams possible to get Lance to win.

I did a triathlon in Shreveport where Lance Armstrong still holds the course record set back in 1988 when he was 16 years old.

I'm not gonna say he didnt' dope, but it's believable he did not in my book.

ETA: I think he is arrogant & cocky SOB with a chip on his shoulder. but that's what gives him his edge. After reading how he grew up, I can see why he has an attitude.

Lance ran the Nike Human Race 10k here in Austin last week - 6.2 miles in 33 minutes. That dude is flying.

Also in the history of the sport, Eddy Merckx is/was head and shoulder better than any rider in the sport including Lance.

Lance is 37. He’d be a threat, but I’m not sure Lance two years removed from competitive cycling can beat Contador. I do think he would crush the wheel suckers, Evans and Leipheimer, because neither is able to attack Lance (or anyone, really).

Team Astana would be friggin awesome. And don’t feel bad for Leipheimer, he’s probably come to terms with the fact he’s never going to win the Tour because he’s just not good enough. He’s really good, he’s just a tier below the top guys.

Astana is already the best team for Grand Tours (you can argue CSC is more well-rounded overall and that Rabobank is better at the one-day classics). Astana is a monster. Leipheimer knows his place as super-domestique. Contador is the best cyclist right now. And if Lance comes back, he’s the second greatest cyclist ever, even if he’s over the hill. You either got another contender or the greatest domestique ever, in the same vein as Hinault and LeMond.

Wife and I ran that race as well. For a 10k, it was one of the hardest ones alot of runners had ever raced. Lots of hills. Hot as hell. To average a 5.30 minute mile on that course IS impressive as hell.

Dude is in great shape.

There you go...maybe he's good? If everyone is playing the same field with the same advantage...likely in cycling as a lot of Lance's opponents (Ullrich) have been caught...then he's at the very worst still the best in a drug-fueled field.

Considering how weak the competition is due to drug testing, he should win it easily.

yep, he'll find a way to take some drugs one way or another like he always has and win that sucker again
