A photograph was unveiled purporting to show the actress serving as the Queen of Love and Beauty at the Fair Saint Louis—previously known as the Veiled Prophet Ball—in 1999, when she was aged 19.
Showing her dressed in an elegant white gown and gloves as a room of smiling onlookers gaze at her in apparent awe, the image could be easily be dismissed as just another throwback snapshot of a future celebrity at her local pageant.
However, Twitter users were quick to point out that the annual event, which takes place every December in the star's native Missouri, was once exclusively held for the city's elite, and—more specifically—for white people only.

While illustrations of the early attire have drawn comparisons to the Ku Klux Klan, the latter wasn't formed until 1915, decades after the St. Louis event was founded.

I can deal with this given they fixed the black crime problem in St. Louis. It's a fair trade off.

It is true that there are no "black only" events. For example, I've never seen a "Miss Ebony" or a "Miss Black America" contest.

The 1st Klan was in 1865. The second Klan was in 1915. But they had Klan before 1915.

Those tweetards are causing this shite to get pushed at the highest corporate, academic, and government levels.
You may laugh, but those who control your life aren't laughing one bit.

Following a series of protests about its exclusivity, the organization is said to have eventually diversified, allowing African-Americans to join in 1979.

So. Quit fricking giving these things attention.

The full article says they integrated the club 40 years ago and changed the name and imagery 30 years ago to be more inclusive. She participated 20 years ago.
But the entire event USED to be a lot worse and the person we are targeting wasn’t even involved then but she should have known better or something…

So by this logic. Anyone involved in a non Zulu parade could be targeted.

That's where this is going.
That is what the 1619 Project is all about.
