We grabbed some sandwiches from this little spot down the block.
I got the Pig & Fig!
Prosciutto, fig jam, crumbled gorgonzola, poached pears, mixed greens, balsamic reduction and vinaigrette on a baguette.
Vodka waters.

Went quick and easy tonight. New York strip with a little Boursin cheese topping.

Hamburger steak smothered with onions and mushrooms. Finished with some crumbled Roquefort melted on top. Tasted a lot better than it looked.

Cedar plank smoked shrimp, chicken drummies and wings (really small today) and rib-eye steaks (uber expensive now), with mashed potatos and home-grown squash that someone gave to us, sauteed in onions.
Nice finish with Key Lime Pie from Buttermilk Pies in the Oil Center, next door to Champagnes.

Kinda the same as last night, but I made some chimichurri this time! Roasted chicken, carrots, onions, potatoes and garlic with buttered corn:

Thanks! I've never seen cedar plank shrimp before, how was it? Everything you made looks tasty AF.

There are many ways to cook shrimp over an open flame, but the best way is to have a physical barrier (as seafood is not as resilient as beef to fire), and a wood/cedar plank fits the bill. You need to soak the plank in water for 1-2 hrs, then put the shrimp or fish on the plank for cooking. Season the shrimp first, put them on the wet plank on the fire at 300 degrees for 15-25 minutes, and you will have excellent shrimp appetizer.
