We have a new hire here at our company who just graduated last year who is a lib and he was looking for the same thing you are. He moved to New Orleans and commutes to BR each day.

Nowhere in BR. Want funky move to Nola and become a Bywater Crusty and go tango on Frenchman baw. But forreal, the Perkins overpass area was awesome, at least 5-7 years ago. You had Ivar's, Duvics, Zee-Zee's (RIP), and Zippys and they were basically all lively every night.

State street, back like 10 years ago, was basically the definition of hipster trash.

Yeh State street back in like 209-2014 was awesome...to visit ... occasionally. It's pretty grimy. Its a crime that they stopped the Carlotta Street Block Party though.

To OP move into one of those houses for rent over on Rhododendron or Honeysuckle and you can easily get to all those bars and its somewhat secluded and quiet, and clean.

Would like a funky bohemiam vibe. Close to drinking, food and arts venues. Need good parks.

Downtown

Spanish Town

Beauregard Town

Mid City (Ogden...or Capital Heights if you can swing it).

Turn around and leave this shithole if you're physically able to do it. If you have nothing chaining you to this hell, don't grow roots here. Leave immediately. This is coming from someone born and bred here who used to cheerlead for people to move here.

My tune has changed though.

There is no future here. This town and state are dying and trying to eek out some enjoyable living here isn't worth the risk.

I never seen so many gay people at a restaurant than I did at Mid City beer garden... with that said Perkin overpass or Government near the Acadian intersection are the places he looks for
