It depends on surprise conference tournament champs, and other bubble teams more than it does on this game to my assumption. I would guess we are already in.

When teams aren’t in the same division the tiebreaker is record against common opponents in conference descending from1 seed down. Georgia beat vandy, vandy swept us.

Now that you mention it, it's hard to understand. For instance, if it's intradivisional, look at these #'s for LSU:
Miss St 1-2
@Ole Miss 2-1
Arkansas 1-2
@Auburn 2-1
Alabama 2-1
@A&M 2-1
LSU has a 10-8 record within their side. I don't know what Georgia has done, but do they really have a better Eastern record than 10-8?

NP, but actually I was wrong. I assumed vandy finished 2nd. Same scenario, except Tennessee finished 2nd.

FTR, this is why Georgia is the 8 seed and has the tiebreaker over us. With the SECt tiebreaker rules, it boils down to record against common opponents in the SEC, beginning with top team. Vandy was the best common opponent we both played. They won their series against Vandy and we got swept by Vandy.

Lol thanks. Worded better than mine perhaps. Turns out vandy let Kentucky come back and Tennessee finished 2nd. But same result.

Thanks. Yes agreed, now that the weekend series are completed, LSU is 13-17 and Bama is 12-17. The point was Bama had played one less game during the regular season and we needed to win on Saturday and not depend on any tiebreaker.

Seems like an obscure tiebreaker, but it is what it is. Doesn't seem to mean much for the SECT, other than probably UGA being the home team in Round 1. Let's just beat the Dawgs and take any question out who is the better team!

Who will Georgia most likely pitch on Tuesday ...a righty or lefty?
