Teenager Murdered in Rayne - Arrest Made (Update pg4 - 2nd Suspect Arrested Friday 5/28)

Searched but didnt see this posted. Sad story all around. So many different stories floating around as to motive. Apparently this suspect has a prior rap sheet.

17 year old boy shot to death while parked in his truck after midnight this past Sunday morning. Strange detail that caught my eye from press release is that the houston pd was thanked for their help. Not sure if he was arrested in houston or maybe an accomplice was from there.
I hear the Victim was a member of the Notre Dame baseball state championship team. No confirmation on that detail.

Good question. That is the obvious first assumption. But people connected feel he wasn’t that type of kid.
Hate to accuse the victim before we know more facts.
Two stories i have heard:
1) Road rage
2) Victim witnessed a crime and criminals followed him till he parked to eliminate the witness.

I saw the guy arrested is involved in a bunch of the local MCs, made me wonder if it might’ve been a road rage deal where the kid might’ve pulled out in front of him on a bike or something.

I know the victims dad and my nephew is a classmate.
The piece of shite they arrested was convicted of accessory to murder years ago and either did prison time or it was overturned on appeal. I briefly read some court docs on the internet when I was searching for a pic of him earlier.
It wasn’t drugs. Apparently they followed him back from Lafayette to Rayne where he was spending the night at a house behind the old Mervin Kahn building, and shot him. Saw a post on social media that the Lafayette Sheriff said he potentially saw them committing a crime while at a red light and they followed him to Rayne.
fricking senseless and tragic.

Whoa, I didn’t know that. They stopped by our placed and took some video footage from the road, I assumed trying to see if he may have passed there.
It blows me away how some people are so willing to throw everything away, according to his Facebook the murder is married and has 5 kids, oldest looks to be about 8.

That is the guy. He and the shooter Vince Moore killed a black guy in 97. Convicted of 2nd degree murder. Sentenced to life without parole. Got off on appeal in 2003 I think.
