thanks i will try that. it is the first one hanging on that skinny platform; so it swings on the web and it is difficult to hit its back. i tried to sling shot the web string and can't cut it down.

Yeah, it took me a few times to remember that you press in the joystick to stab. It's pretty easy after that.

Man, the first boss in this game has to be the hardest first boss I've ever played in a Zelda game. Usually they are a pushover, but this androgenous dude killed me quite a bit.

You are ahead of me. I bypassed the freaking spiders. I slingshot the two ropes and swang over then their backs were facing me I sworded them to death and they fell in the water.

I am just now at the treasure chest and the one spider is kicking my arse to hold my sword up to make the eyeballs pop out.

I ain't gonna lie I used a walk through. I found one that is exact. The game is all over the place I would have never found those baby things hiding w/o it. Also it is hard flying and landing the controls are not the best.

So what’s the verdict on the standard controls for this game?

I just completed the first dungeon, and so far loving the standard non-motion controls. I always enjoyed slyward sword, but could get slightly annoyed at the motion controls at time. Standard controls fixes that, and I love getting to play this game without swinging my arms around.

inverted stuff

Maybe I missed it, but I'd like to have an option to invert the flying controls. Pulling down on the joystick to nosedive just doesn't feel right at all.

I turned the motion controls off accept for camera and aiming. I am playing around with it but just got through where I was stuck, got the key and am at the boss...

Using the top left L button to constantly set the camera sucks. I need to play with the settings I guess.

I don't think there is any way around that issue because you swing your sword with the left stick, and it's an integral part of the game picking the side that you swing from. I assume it was as big issue from the original game that was made a little smaller with the ability to remove most of the motion controls.

I am enjoying it so far as a game but I am still getting use to using the thumbstick for the sword. I never played the original version so I assume most people who have see the thumbstick usage as an upgrade over the original, but I have only ever known button input weapon usage so that is my biggest gripe

I feel the same way. There are times when I'm trying to swing the sword, especially at the little gummy bad guys, and nothing happens.

the first boss is weird AF and hard. I am trying to swing my sword opposite and trick him. I made it to where he slings me with red knives and I died. guess i will head up and finally fly with NON MOTION idiotic controls and get some potion.

I don't know if those bats have what you need. The first time I got a monster claw was when I got to Eldin.

yeah, I got the wing in the Eldin volcano place.

I like using the drone bug to cut ropes for mechanism doors to open. the RED X shows a crack in the wall you would never usually see.

The fireball boss sucks.

Yeah, I beat the sand temple place a couple of nights ago. They have a new weapon/tool that is interesting. I'm enjoying the game. I think I read that one of the complaints is too much going back and forth from ground to sky and retracing your steps. I'm actually enjoying that part. I like the seriousness of a dungeon then taking a breather in the sky to do village tasks.

I'm not sure what you mean. You're talking about Skyloft, right? I guess they don't really have a lot of people walking around. Most are in the houses, shops, and knight school.

I'm about to start the Water Temple. There's a trial you have to do before starting your trek to the water area that scared the shite out of me. I had to look up a video of how to do it just so I wouldn't freak myself out.

the quest where you slide the gravestone to the shed and find the missing girl has people you need to then help i can't find.

i took a break from the fireballs kicking my arse. I learned at the end where he is near dying-- when he gets up on his legs to go under him but do bombs take him or the sword in the end?
