I was just in Denver and it was like 26% tax after all the local option bullshite. It’s always like this in a legal state. Black market weed is cheaper.

Tbh people voted on that bill in spite of the tax. They saw “legalize weed” and voted yes. Your government slipped the tax in the same bill so there wouldn’t be a fight about it later on. People would still rather have weed with a 20% tax

I generally agree. But Montana (same re municipalities except some have vehicle tax) has no sales tax, so they just keep jacking up property taxes.

I prefer a consumption tax to that. My property taxes have tripled in the past decade.

Eta: disclaimer - - the above in no way suggests that this tax will replace in any way current or future additional taxes. That isn't how government and its gaslit subjects work.
