Update 5/20!

Looking at Hampton inn constitution Avenue fri and sat
Hyatt place connected to superdome Saturday and Sunday

Once we see what time LSU plays I cancel one of them for Saturday night. Thoughts?

Hello fellow ranters!

We live in south GA and are looking to make a trip the weekend of Oct 1-3. Wanting to see LSU vs Auburn on 10/2 and Saints vs Giants 10/3. Then drive back 10/4 to south GA

Would it be best to stay in Hammond Friday night through Sunday night being centrally located to Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and getting back on road Monday?

Any suggestions and recommendations please and thank you!

Stay in BR Friday and Saturday and NO Sunday. Hammond would be ok as an alternate Friday...pretty good downtown.

Do not stay in New Orleans for any reason.

Drive in before the game and out right after.

Well...you have 3 responses..... every one saying a completely different thing...

If it were me, Id stay in French quarter and drive to BR for LSU game....assuming COVID stupidity is completely gone by then

PS: You'll have a great time in New Orleans. It's popular on this site to shite on Nola but you'll have more fun staying there than Hammond.

Good suggestion, BUT be in bed by midnight. The French Quarter gets very dangerous after that.

Stay in NOLA the whole time, but in the CBD. Maybe the new Virgin Hotel or the Ace. See the FQ during the day. It's too trashy at night these days. Plenty of CBD dining/bar options in evenings. Drive to BR on Saturday.

Hammond is not a great choice if you just trying to split the drive between N.O. and B.R.

Staying in Hammond would be absolutely retarded. If you're going to make the trip, do it right. Stay in BR Friday and Saturday, and Nola on Sunday.

Hammond is a fine place for a bed but you wont have fun there.

Stay in New Orleans around the CBD. Drive to BR for the game and drive back after.

If you're a competent guy, you can have a good time in NOLA without exposing yourself to unnecessary risk and harm.

I would not stay in Hammond for convenience. I think you’ll end up spending half your trip sitting in traffic. I’d try and stay as close to at least one of your destinations as you can.

If you want to do the whole LSU gameday, I’d stay in BR Fri and Sat. Then stay Sunday in NOLA. If you really only care about seeing the game then maybe it makes more sense to stay in NOLA and just come to BR.

Good luck planning and Geaux Tigers!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! Sounds like BR Friday and Saturday night and NO Sunday night after game.

So now suggestions for BR those two nights?

Then NO Sunday night CBD after game. Assuming vehicle will be safe in parking during game. Haha

If you stay in New Orleans, bring a bullet proof vest, or full body armor.
