Like Crawley, I guess the Saints just can't let go.

and the saints recycling the dregs of worthless players no other team even wants continues

He's just competing for #5/#6 CB. He's not highly sought after, but he can play the outside & he knows the defense. Good speed, quickness, & length.
Subpar at tackling b/c he has very little muscle/bulk. Retarded in zone coverage, but has patches of decent play on the outside. When he's having an off game...it's horribly off. Doesn't play Special Teams either.
I don't see it as a bad signing.

He was solid in 2017 then fell off a cliff in 18. I don’t know what his deal is. Still a decent depth corner just don’t put him up against Calvin Ridley

If he could regain his 2017 form, that dude was better than Jack Rabbit. Legit shutdown corner that year. They actually tested Lattimore's side more than than they tried Crawley's.
But he sucked arse in '18, '19, & '20, plus had attitude issues.

Well maybe they shouldn't have cut Trill.
Trill turns down Saints and signs with Dolphins

Play him pressing at the line with over the top help, and he does a good job. Play him off corner and he gets fricking roasted.
They played him off man, that’s what happened.

He wasn’t as good as JR at all imo. He was definitely better than some acted like, that particular year. He’s a veteran that has played in big games manned up against elite WRs. He’s hot and cold, but when he does get burned he’s at least in the picture His biggest issue is PIs. For a 4-5th CB I’ll take him all day, maybe even 3rd for a game or 2.

Dumb move by Trill. Dolphins have a legit secondary with good depth.
He would have made the saints roster easily. Not so sure he makes the fins, unless it’s their practice squad.

They really do this year. That defense in general is very good.

Just found an article on that... LINK
Dolphins awarded defensive back Trill Williams off waivers
Release your defensive backs at your own risk, teams of the NFL. Because if you’re not careful, the Miami Dolphins will be quick to swoop in and pluck them off the waiver wire — as the team has done this week with their claiming of 2021 undrafted free agent rookie cornerback Trill Williams of Syracuse. Williams, a 6-foot-2 defensive back with ample length and versatility, was a surprise undrafted prospect whose draft stock appears to have been hurt by his medical profile. Williams originally signed with the Saints after the 2021 NFL Draft, but when the team cut him for a failed physical, the Dolphins were quick to pounce, adding him to their deep collection of defensive backs.
Williams, who logged 4 interceptions and forced three fumbles during the course of his career with the Orange program from 2018-2020, is a big-bodied, physical defender who gives Miami a crack at some developmental depth throughout the secondary. The Dolphins certainly aren’t hurting for cornerbacks, however. The team currently has high profile players at the position including:
Xavien Howard
Byron Jones
Noah Igbinoghene
Jason McCourty (a potential shift to safety coming)
Justin Coleman
Nik Needham
And others
But it is clear that Miami views their defensive identity as rooted in the secondary and having enough depth there to handle spread formations and account for injuries is something this team has made a priority. Williams will have a chance to boost all of the above. If he’s healthy in time for training camp, Williams may have the best odds of any undrafted free agent to make this year’s team — his primary competition is likely IOL Robert Jones from Middle Tennessee State.
But health is no guarantee for Williams, who will be looking to recover from an ankle injury that ended his 2020 season after just 5 games and appears to have played a hand in his recent hardship in trying to find a home in the NFL.
