Vaccine vs. Masks: Why does it matter?
Posted on 5/14/21 at 10:16 am

Is there an actual CDC response for the necessity of masks at all if vaccinations actually work?
Serious answers, because yes I know it's all about control.
But if the vaccine works, then the only people at risk, masks or not, are the people who don't have the vaccine, which is their choice. It shouldn't matter whether someone without a vaccine wears a mask if you are vaccinated. Why aren't we talking about this?
Am I missing something in the science?

This is it. The common sense and science of this has been muddled for one thing....control.

No, I think you got it.

I appreciate that, but there HAS to be a response. Someone had to ask that question at some point...

They’re noticing more and more people are saying frick the mask shite, so now they say if you get a vax then you don’t need a mask. Another illusion for if you see people without masks they hope your first though is they had a vax and it may prompt more people to get one feeling it’s normal. Smoke and mirrors, and lunacy.

No there doesn't. The media runs interference for policy makers, so very few are held accountable for their ridiculous policy decisions. Sheep in the media audience eat it up and are none the wiser.

Just ignore Biden. These things shouldnt even be debated.
He talks like an authoritarian POS, but he cant make people in maskless states like Florida wear masks unvaccinated. We dont live in a autocracy.
When leaders start talking like this, they need to be thoroughly rebuked.

Prior to this covid stuff vaccines were required in schools. Why did everyone have to be vaccinated. For a lot of vaccines its never been an option. To be part of regular society certain vaccines were mandatory. Meningitis was mandatory at my college. Why? It's rare, for one. Two, why do you care if I get it? What's my medical bills got to do with anything? Me protecting your health is not your right. If you're afraid of your ability to fight or catch illness that's a deeper issue and your issue.

No one that would make any difference questions the CDC and they aren’t required to answer to anyone anyway

I think the idea is everyone should wear masks until we reach "herd immunity" to protect those who cant or refuse to get vaccinated. Since there is no way to tell who is vaccinated, everyone should wear masks.
Now that's changed. They are saying vaccinated people can ditch masks. Of course, most unvaccinated people will ditch masks as well. I think it's the right call anyway.
If people get sick and die (they will) for not being vaccinated, not our problem anymore. People have had ample time to get the vaccine. Any adult who doesn't have it already is a vaccine "denier" and nothing you can do will change their minds.

The fact is simple.
If you get vaccine with one of the two better vaccines you have a roughly 1 in 20 chance of getting it compared to the normal person.
In other words if 20 unvaccinated people out of a hundred get the virus, only 1 out of a hundred people who got the vaccine would get it.
Similar stats for serious illness and actually more for death.
Might actually be closer to 1 in 15, but 1 in 20 is easier if we are to play math.
Now that doesn't mean you can play on the covid ward without getting the virus. It just means that in normal interactions that is the way things play out.
Now earlier on, anyone couldn't get the vaccine. Well, they all got the vaccine. It's now anyone who wants it can get it.
Would it be better if everyone got it? Yes. Is it important enough to fight over? No. I really don't care.
I got it. I am pretty bullet proof against this thing. So I don't care if some idiot thinks the vaccine is going to change his DNA (just FYI, it won't).
The country should have open up a while ago, but biden is an idiot and the cdc is a joke.
If some moron doesn't want to take the vaccine and thus increase his risk of dying from the virus, that's on him.
There is a saying you can't fix stupid. And you really can't do I don't want to try.
At the end of the day, grown competent adults can choose their medical treatment. Idiots may not be very smart. They may be poorly able to weigh risks and rewards. But they are competent.
At the end of the day, vaccines are easy better than masks. If we let people go out, than when we get some vaccines out there it is better than it was with masks.
And we see that due to the decline in cases.

There is more studies that masks actually hurt you more but they don’t tell you that

If until yesterday masks were so integral to stopping the spread...
... then why did Fauci float such a ridiculous idea as double-masking?
... and why didn't jails just hand out masks to inmates instead of releasing violent criminals out into society to prey on more innocent victims?

Same here. Been wondering what's the answer.
Asked in another thread and I got some weird response about seatbelts and airbags in a car and handicap people and chumps without the right equipment. Lol

I'm not anti Vaccine or anything but there is absolutely no way this is a known fact as it is still way to early to tell!
If someone is stating this they are full of shite as there is not enough time or people who have had the vaccine to know this for fact!

People get nasty sores in their nose because of STUPID MASK
And why do students still need to WEAR STUPID MASK in class all day?? Many chose to stay "Virtual" simply to avoid the stupid mask!

Don’t bring logic into this discussion...you will be deemed a racist or some shite

I'm waiting for restaurants to ask when you walk in, or for offices to ask if you come back to the office... now that we can go without masks.
Why does it matter for the vaccinated people?

Solid take, but...
Is someone a moron for not wanting to take it? I'll say it, I'm not taking it.
I don't take aspirin every time I get a headache, or sudafed every time I have a stuffy nose. Or if I do, I try to take the bare minimum. I stay home when I'm sick, which isn't very often. I don't get every flu vaccine every single year, only one when it is suggested. I try to make conscious choices not to rely on meds as often as I can. It just seems like in this case, that's still a fair assessment. I'm bulletproof, I don't necessarily need it. I'll take the risk.
But why does that matter to someone else who is vaccinated?
