Todd Jones
Possibly the least well-known member of the 300 saves club in the SportsCenter era

WAR is for Soys who need a formula to create opinions for them. Same thing as PER.

Matt holiday or brad penny

Rickey Henderson, he’s the best player ever but people refuse to admit it.

Garvey is a Hall of Very Good player,
So is Jeter.
Terrible take.
6th most hits all time. 2nd most homers for a shortstop. 14x All Star. 5x Silver Slugger.
You can make the “overrated because he played in New York” or “not as good defensively as advertised” arguments, but to claim Jeter is not HOF worthy is laughable even by those who loathe him and thought he was overrated.

Tony Oliva and Al Oliver

Banks, Ripken, ARod, and Tejada all hit more at shortstop

Oliva should be in the HOF. If Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax are in and given slack due to injuries than Oliva should be in as well.
Al Oliver was a good player, but he was just hasn't got the numbers and compared to his peers and the position he played during the time he doesn't measure up.

Dude he was never considered one of the best catchers during his career. He's not even borderline HOF.

The potential that Henderson had as an NFL running back is underrated.

Wasn’t Molitor a first ballot hall of gamer?
Hard to say that’s underrated

Yep. He was definitely overrated due to playing for those great Yankee teams.
I don’t loath him but do agree he was vastly overrated by the fawning media. But even then no one in their right mind would question his HOF worthiness

Measure up to what? The topic was underrated players.

Lou Gehrig
Sounds crazy at first but he really is underrated RELATIVE to where he SHOULD be all time.
He was basically Babe Ruth but he, obviously, was ill. He’s numbers are up there as top 3 all time - period
Ted Williams
Babe Ruth
Lou Gehrig
The three best triple crown hitters of all time.
Yet Gehrig is always overshadowed by Ruth and other greats. Had he not been sick and been healthy his entire career, he’d probably own every record
