7 ‘s OK but 18 has played out
I agree, I just don't see 18 having the same tradition and meaning to it that 7 carries. Plus trying to have two numbers having special meaning is one to many and lessons the impact of having a special number. Time to let the 18 tradition fade out, as it kind of already has. It seems 18 just doesn't have much specialness to it any more among the players or the fans.

As if Clark earned and deserves to keep 18
he earned and deserves it as much as anyone. If Clark doesn't want it this season they should just give it the backup punter or deep snapper or someone like that unless someone else says they want to wear it.

I can’t find the actual thread, but someone like just last month mentioned both the 7 and 18 tradition has lost their luster and would like to see it go away. They had well over 50 upvotes and the overall consensus was they agreed.
I guess a lot has changed in a month and now the tradition is cool again
No one. And I mean no one cares what a bunch of middle aged guys on TD care about.
Also any grown man that cares about the numbers needs some real shite in his life to give a frick about

Ahh. I thought you were referencing the player being blacklisted, not LM.

Honestly I could care less about either of those watered down traditions especially the cursed #7

I think just the opposite (I always forget "7" is a thing). That said, it's time for both to fade out. If jersey numbers are that important then I would think a guy would want to be the greatest number "24", or "10", or "34", etc, etc, rather than just the "NEXT number 7 or 18". Imagine if every starting QB from here on out would wear #9? The significance of that being Burrow's number would eventually fade away. Create your own identity. Don't "borrow" someone else's
This whole thing started an an informal deal (and probably a little bit of a joke) with Jacob Hester which LSU's marketing decided to latch on to and make a "tradition"...essentially copying Texas A&M's 12th Man tradition that has deeper roots and a much more interesting story.

Think Brennan ought to wear it if he wins this job for sure

Jontré Kirklin
Obviously, a second candidate for #18 would have to be on offense.
