Just for reference, my wife just traded in her 2020 Ford Explorer XLT with 20k miles; they gave her $29k for it. They currently have it on the lot for $37.5k.

We bought my wife a Honda CR-V about 6 months ago and she loves it.

It depends on how big of an "SUV" you need. To get it near the $30k mark, you're moreso looking @ a compact SUV.
I love the way the Mazda CX-30 Turbo looks. Its not the biggest SUV, but has 250 HP and is zippy AF

Depends on your length of ownership but Hyundai is a great value for a vehicle you intend to own 5 years or less
We bought a new Hyndai Santa Fe Sport for the wife. $20K midlevel trim and an easy 3yr note.
It's been a great vehicle for her and the tech is just right.

Here's the deal! I'm thinking of buying a mid-size SUV sometime next year. V6 is fine. 4 ppl comfortably. Decent gas milage. Under 30k. I'd love under 25k. I'm thinking I might have a 10k
deposit, so a sub 15k loan/note seems swee
Maybe a fleet vehicle is in your future...
Anyway, here's an option.
