I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around Palestine getting ahold of something like that without Israel noticing and striking first - and also a hard time imagining all that shite getting shot down. That footage is amazing.

Bit of a stretch, huh? I don't think anyone is "worshipping" Israel.
It's important to have an ally over there, no? It's deeper than just ideology. Israel is a country mired in the world's conflict for energy resources. It's right there at the gas station. The U.S. will take every opportunity to have a strong ally in a region with otherwise very hostile people to Westerners.
