On this date, 44 years ago. Quite an eye opening experience for a then 17 year old. I knew of PF and had only really listened to the Dark Side of the Moon album at this point and liked the band. This concert turned me into a huge fan. The sound, lights, video screen, characters floating around the arena........and I was high as giraffe poosy. It was nothing less than a spectacle. This show was years before MTV but PF had a video screen showing corresponding music videos behind the band the entire show. $8.50 was the cost of the ticket. we were so lucky.......

I was there and was 17 as well. The best concert I ever went to.
However, we got so "disorientated"* that we somehow ended up on Airline Hwy trying to walk back to NOLA. After what seemed like forever some hippie in a Volkswagen bug picked me and my friend up and dropped us off at Airline and S Carrollton where I had to call my dad to come pick up his "eyes still dilated" son up at sunrise.
God Bless that hippie in the bug.

I was there and also had not previously been a Pink Floyd fan. I really didn't care for Dark Side of the Moon and had heard nothing of the Animals LP that Pink Floyd was showcasing. I just went because I had heard they put on a very good show.
It was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever attended. I immediately went out and bought the Animals LP. I loved it but really haven't care that much for their music since then, including the Wall.
But, if they were on tour and coming to an area I could reach, I dang well would try to be there. (Yea, I know they aren't a group anymore.)
